This charming semi-detached Victorian cottage is ideal for a quiet getaway with loved ones, close to beach and town, on the west coast of the Isle of Wight.

The accommodation consists of a two storey cottage annexe to the owners Victorian House and is tastefully decorated with cottage style furniture and artwork.

Afton Bank Cottage is located on the outskirts of Freshwater/Freshwater Bay in a quiet residential area, adjacent to an apple orchard, where there are several acres of fruit trees, and an attractive garden nursery.

The cottage is entirely self-contained, with its own grass driveway and parking. The accommodation consists of two bedrooms, one with a 4ft.6” double bed, the other has three single 3' beds. There is a large family bathroom with shower cubicle, bath, washbasin and toilet.

Downstairs there are two reception rooms, a homely sitting room with sofa and armchairs, T.V., DVD and video, and a dining room with dresser, table and chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, iron, kettle, toaster and a large larder. There is a washing machine and shared use of a tumble dryer if required.

Outside is an attractive paved area with flower tubs and lawn with table and chairs for eating al fresco. There is a swimming pool in the house garden, which guests are welcome to use between 10 am and 6 pm, this has to be at your own risk and children must be supervised at all times please.

Babysitting can be arranged.

Lots of local activities available, just ask, you can even hire bicycles to the cottage.

The Isle of Wight region

The Isle of Wight famously known as 'Dinosaur Isle' (not for it's residents!) is steeped in history and is brimming with culture and beauty. There is something wonderful to discover round every corner, and something for everyone too - from the worlds largest sailing regatta 'Cowes Week' to hosting one of the worlds largest Music Festival to date, the Isle of Wight Festival - It is a little island with big ideas! We have Walking Festivals, Cycling Festivals, Fringe festivals and even Garlic Festivals! But if it's something a little quieter and slow paced you are after, we have that too! With blue flag beaches and areas of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty' you can see why visitors return year after year to the Island, and if that's not enough, the Isle of Wight boasts the most sunshine in the whole of the uk, with it's own warmer micro climate it is a luscious place to be.

We are close to several superb beaches. Compton, a lovely National Trust beach is only 5 minutes away by car. Beautiful country walks, golf, tennis, horse riding, cycling and water sports are all available on our doorstep.? Shops, and attractive country pubs and restaurants are all within easy reach. We are also close to one of the main island bus routes.?

?The main village centre is 1.5 miles, the bay is about half a mile away. We are wonderfully situated for walkers being on the Tennyson trail and 10-15 minutes from the old railway line to Yarmouth, which now doubles as a cycle path and footpath to the yachting centre, which is 3 miles distan
