“Quiet Retreat”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2015

Accommodation was very nice, clean and comfortable. Tranquil setting perfect for that quiet get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Train station is only a 10 minute walk away through the pretty village of Freshford and only one stop into Bath. Upon arrival we found a pint of milk and a couple of brownies which was a lovely touch. On going out one night, we returned to find a few lanterns lit outside the cottage which was a pretty welcome. Only downside is the entrance which is very tight and in a very narrow lane.

“A Class Above”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2015

If you're going to visit Bath this is the place to stay for peace and quiet,a beautiful village with locals who care. Our host were helpful with anything we need but left us quietly to ourselves. The cottage itself was a class above anything we have ever stay in.FULLY RECOMMENDED!!!

“A great place to stay”

A very pretty cottage with wonderful views.Comfortable and well equipped,a great place to come back to after a day out.We will definitely visit again.

“Perfect Hidden Gem”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2014

After an eventful drive down (winter storms) we arrived to meet Philip who quickly showed us around before leaving us to explore. Having read previous reviews prior to booking I had a clue what we may find, and my partner was ecstatic to find some fresh homemade brownies in the kitchen! The pictures and blurb could not be anymore accurate. The apartment and overall house is stunning, the attention to detail faultless. Set in the quiet and scenic Freshford, we struck gold with a village that is a friendly as it looks. The bedroom is massive, the lounge endless and the wood burning fire a joy (though no need to worry as the central heating is brilliant). What more can I say. Perfect owners, perfect location, perfect apartment. The negatives - I had to go home. Thank you Philip and family!

“Lovely accommodation in a perfect location”

Reviewed 10 Jan 2014

We stayed for two nights in the new year and were very impressed. A lovely apartment with little homely touches. Perfect for a trip into bath, the village had a lovely local pub and had it not been raining it looked like a lovely area for walking. Would definitely consider returning in warmer weather to see more of the area minus the rain and would definitely recommend!

“Amazing stay, perfect idyllic location!!!”

Reviewed 7 Dec 2013

Really enjoyed our stay in Abbotsleigh Cottage, the location is perfect, only 10 mins walk to the train station which brings you straight to Bath in a few minutes. The hosts were very welcoming, even had freshly made brownies waiting for us when we arrived. Can't recommend this place enough.

“Gorgeous, cottage in idyllic location”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2013

I stayed here with friends for a weekend. The cottage is lovely, beautifully decorated and really thoughtfully equipped. There is also a cosy wood fire, making it the perfect spot for a winter break. Freshford itself is a really cute, idyllic little village and the cottage has amazing views over the surrounding countryside. Phil and Naomi were exceptionally helpful with everything and really very kind hosts. We will certainly be back and would strongly recommend to anyone
