“'Magnifique'”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2016

Had a truly wonderful time, accommodation was excellent. The owners of the property were most helpful in giving us ideas for trips out and giving us advice on local customs etc. Set in a beautiful and peaceful rural setting with lots of wildlife e.g. deer, buzzards etc. Loads to do within easy reach of the gite e.g. chateau, caves, medieval villages. Lots of history in the area. Great facilities on site e.g. pool, table tennis, bikes, games. Lovely gardens to sit in. Would highly recommend this gite to everyone, something for all ages to do there.

“A teachers retreat”

This was a fantastic place to unwind and relax and catch up with friends. Our hosts Neal and Carine made us feel very welcome and comfortable, making sure we had everything we needed. They were also very knowledgeable about the area and made some excellent recommendations for our days out, one highlight was definitely Jardins de Marqueyssac. They had also hunted down a vegetarian restaurant in Cahors, as half of our party were vegetarians. The gite we stayed La Grange was perfect for us all and had everyone modern comfort you could have wished for, and of course the weather was spot on!

“A wonderful Spring break”

Reviewed 10 Apr 2015

I had a lovely long weekend break with friends. The hosts were attentive and helpful and had an excellent knowledge of the area. The accommodation is comfortable and well equipped. The way an interesting set of farm buildings has been adapted made the visit even better although it wasn't warm enough yet to test out the pool. The hosts recommended several beautiful places for us to visit as well as advising about places to eat and shop. The surrounding countryside is all anyone could ask for with wildlife and birds, routes to walk or jog and views to just stand and stare at. I didn't really want to leave.

“Like a picture postcard”

I recently stayed in La Grange at Domaine Labastide and I can honestly say it's one of the best places I've ever stayed in. To start with, Domaine Labastide is a wonderful location, on your doorstep are stunning views, breath taking scenery and peace and quiet. La Grange is a lovely mix of old and new- an old converted barn, renovated to a high standard so that you have everything you'd need- heaters for when it gets chilly at night, a patio with a BBQ, wifi, comfy beds, I could go on! Neal and Carine are fantastic hosts, eager to make sure that their guests have a wonderful time during their stay and have a wealth of knowledge about the local area and what you should do. Domaine Labastide is ideally situated. Although it's rural, it is still near to everything you need- the local Boulangerie in the nearby town had fantastic pain au chocolat, bread and baguettes. You will need a hire car but driving around there is easy! With the Dordogne and The Lot less than an hour away, plus numerous chateaus and other must-sees on your door step, it's ideal. Basically, this place is exactly what you'd want a break in France to be!
