Within the landscaped grounds we have a 15m heated pool boarded by a large decked area with sun loungers and shades - It gets the sunshine all day long so you can relax and soak up the inspirational views of the rolling hills, each topped by a medieval village.

Perhaps you prefer the shade of the pergola where you can sip a cocktail, read your book or just snooze the afternoon away!

We have planted a vegetable and herb garden so you can help yourself each day, with our compliments, to our seasonal produce to make a lovely meal - why go shopping if you don't have too! We also have an orchard and our own chickens so there are always free range eggs waiting for you each day.

The original outdoor brick bread oven is ideal for our weekly complimentary pizza party where you can try your hand at making your own pizza - perfect with a glass or two of local vino!

INSIDE - your apartment is large with lots of light and from each window there is a view over the countryside. We have tried to think of what you will need for a relaxing holiday and our guests tell us we have thought of everything.

Your kitchen has a granite worktop and is fitted with all the appliances you would expect at home.

Your bedroom is light and airy and has a king size bed with lovely linen so you get a wonderful nights sleep and feel refreshed and ready to enjoy the next day of your stay.

Your bathroom is modern and stylish with a large powerful shower - we think that is important.

Of course there is all the technology and wifi you might want or you may feel like listening to the silence of being away from it all - your choice.

OUTSIDE - your private garden outside your door has a table and chairs so you can eat in the fresh air and enjoy the view while you relax.

There are lots of spaces to chill-out in the grounds or you might fancy cooking up a fabulous meal on the BBQ and of course please join us for our weekly pizza party.

The swimming pool is heated and at 15m X 5m there is lots of room and you can do some proper swimming if that is your thing. Or maybe just float on a lilo and let the breeze take you away!

Free Insiders Guide - our guide to the very best elements of Marche is available now - just mail us on the right of this page. In it you will find lots of recommendations that you won't find in the guide books.

What our guests say

'Bob and Ian are fantastic hosts with lots of local knowledge and with tips and advise on what's happening locally - there is plenty to do if you can drag yourself away from the gorgeous pool area. There is a really lovely friendly atmosphere around the place and the pizza party on Monday night is great fun.' Laura August 2015

'We immediately felt at home the minute we arrived. The property is simply perfect. The individual villas are perfectly appointed and even include espresso machines. The swimming pool has a view over the rolling countryside.' Andrea June 2015

'I never thought it was possible to have such a relaxing holiday with two small children but Casal dei Fichi gave us just that. We were able to help ourselves to organic fruit and veg in their garden and the children collected eggs from the chickens for our breakfasts. Bob and Ian booked us into restaurants in the evenings and we had an amazing boat trip along the coast that they also organised.' Tara June 2015

Location description from owner

The Marche region

The first thing people say about Marche is how unspoilt, how special and how undiscovered it is. Our guests love to feel they have found a special place that most people have yet to hear about. Between the sea and the mountains, which form Marche's borders, there are a wealth of unique experiences and places to visit and enjoy. We have put the very best of these together in our 'Insiders Guide' to Marche. Please visit our website to access it or email us and we will send it to you for free. In it you will find lots of recommendations that you won't find in the guide books.

Marche is on the Adriatic coast in central Italy, boarded by the regions of Umbria, Tuscany, Emilia Romana and Abruzzo. It is often described as 'all of Italy in one region' and it has a real diversity of terrain, coastline, towns and attractions - we describe it as 'The Real Italy'.

Your visit to Marche will be remembered for the beautiful scenery, welcoming people and wonderful food and wine!

We are in central Marche, one hours drive from Ancona airport and in an area of rolling hills and tranquil valleys. Each hill is topped by a medieval town waiting to be explored and with a small family restaurant where you can while away a long lunch or evening meal with a glass or two of local wine.

The area is not as busy as most other regions so you will enjoy the feeling of discovering somewhere still a little new and fresh. Marche has some wonderful cities and towns you might like to explore with amazing architecture and history - Macerata, Fermo and Ascoli Piceno are within easy reach. The coastline is truly fantastic - particularly the Conero peninsula and there are many wonderful restaurants where you can enjoy an inexpensive meal while staring out at the water and watch the sail boats go by.

Also worth your time is a trip to the Sibillini mountains which are not far from us. Take a walk in the hills and see some stunning scenery, take a boat out on Fiastra lake or explore the many tiny villages - each with a fabulous small hosteria. You might also like to try some horse riding, climbing or take a trip in a balloon! Whatever you do we will guide you to the best places based on what you like to do - just ask!

Francavilla d'Ete

Casal dei Fichi is a short walk from Francavilla d'Ete which is a typical ancient village set up on a hill with magnificent views. There are all the amenities here including shops, bars and a great simple restaurant. Within a few minutes drive there are several other towns with restaurants and bigger supermarkets and facilities. Nearby to Casal dei Fichi are the fascinating Roman ruins of Urba Salvia and the Abbey where you can take lunch and explore the grounds.Take some time to explore the narrow streets of a local town, visit a local market, check out a museum or gallery or simply sit outside a street cafe and watch the world go by. If you come in high Summer you might like the annual Summer open air opera festival in Macerata but if not in each town or village there is always a programme of live entertainment and festivals all through the long season. The well-known Grotte di Frasassi (Frasassi caves) are one of the largest caves systems in Europe. The caves offer an underground world of lakes, beautiful transparent alabaster formations, vaulted caverns and stalactites suspended like daggers. Guided tours are available throughout the year.

To get to us - we are inland between the sea and the mountains and half way between Macerata and Fermo - 2 beautiful towns. We are one hour from Ancona airport and 90 minutes from Perugia and Pescara airports. Bologna and Rome and 3 hours away. Please ask us and we will advise on the range over travel options available to you.
