Description from owner

Description

Our two log cabins offer a tranquil and romantic base on which to tour the highlands of Scotland. Located just five minutes walk from the village of fort Augustus and in an elevated position overlooking the Glen, our property is accessed up a private drive away from the road, and offers private parking for each cabin, as well as secure storage for cycles and motorbikes. Each of our two cabins can accommodate up to two adults, each cabin has its own shower room and small Kitchen. The kitchens have a microwave, George Forman grill, fridge, kettle and toaster and 'slow cooker', to enable guests to prepare basic meals, we also make available a barbecue for outdoor entertaining.

We are only five minutes walk from the village centre where you will find a choice of establishments to wine and dine.

Our property boundaries are immediately next to the 'Great Glen way' and an abundance of local walks can be accessed within a few minuets walk of each of our two

Our location is ideally situated to explore the highlands and islands, and the Isle of Sky road is only ten minuets drive from our property, the Sky bridge is then only a 55 minutes drive away. The west cost is a must see location head north from the Kyle of Lochalsh and enjoy the experience, you 'will' want to return. We would look forward to welcoming you to the Highlands. Please note, we handle all our own bookings and deposits.

Location description from owner

The Loch Ness region

The Fort Augustus location is ideal for exploring the highlands. With our central location one can choose to explore the west or east coastline, with very easy access to both. Our village is a very popular location all year round, one can while away a few hours watching the boats navigate the canal five rise locks, to continue there journey. Or take a boat trip and do a bit of 'Nessy' spotting of your own!

The village has restaurants and bars, to relax in, as well as shops for stocking up your supplies for your daily excursions. There is also a local Doctors and Chemist, as well as a local post office.

Fort Augustus

We overlook a small hamlet, and are adjacent to the great glen forest on our north side, and loch ness to our south. Inverness is a fifty minuet drive away and Fort William 45 minuets. Both our cabins are situated in a very tranquil location, but are very easy to get to up our own private drive.

Getting around

We would recommend a car for your visit to the Highlands, there is a daily bus route which travels up and down the glen from Inverness and Fort William and stops at all the villages in between. But for those wanting to explore the West coast ones own transport is a must. Please get in touch for further details.

Interaction with guest

We greet all our guests on arrival and as we live adjacent to both of our cabins we are always available if required, but otherwise we will leave you well alone to enjoy the peace and quiet of our surroundings.

“Beautiful warm cozy cottage in great location with amazing hosts!”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2016

Staying in this cottage was absolutely lovely. After driving through the highlands, we were welcomed by Phil and Sue with fresh scones and shortbread, and found ourselves in a cozy, clean, convenient cabin with the fresh smell of a wood cabin and an great view of the Scottish countryside. Super king bed, nice modern bathroom, and a convenient kitchenette gave us everything we could have needed. Phil and Sue were very responsive and helpful the whole time. We wished we could have stayed for more than two nights!

Owner's reply: Hi Ben, thank you for your kind review we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Feed back is very important to us, both positive and negative as we want everybody to enjoy their stay in the highlands and hopefully choose to stay with us again. Take care and hope to see you again sometime in the future.
