Glen Mor luxury holiday apartment is in the Highland Club, a multi award winning conversion of St Benedicts Abbey, which retains its original features and character. Built in the 18th century on the site of the original Fort, the Abbey was used a Benedictine Monastery and school. The apartment is in the Raven Wing block which was the chemistry wing of the school which has been upgraded to provide luxury self-catering accommodation with all modern amenities, including Wi-fi, needed for a great stay.

Our property manager is available to meet you on arrival, check you in to the apartment and give you an orientation tour of the Highland Club and its facilities. The manager stays on site and is available to provide any assistance and advice needed during your stay.

Ideally located close to the village, it is a 2 minute walk to the local restaurants, hotels, pubs, canal locks, and Loch Ness Cruises. The on site restaurant called The Boathouse is set on the South shore of Loch

Guests have full use of all Highland Club facilities including pool, sauna, gym, tennis court, children's play area, barbecues, picnic tables & other shared leisure facilities. In addition there is a Club lounge with full size snooker table, board games , book swap library, board game and luxury seating. Croquet equipment, french boules and table tennis are available for use by guests within the grounds.

This apartment was rated as 4 star by Visit Scotland in 2010. GREAT REVIEWS - see photos of my guest book.

Accommodation comprises:
Open Plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner: with carpeted lounge area and a kitchen/dining area with solid oak floor with full height patio doors opening to a Juliet balcony with a great view of the Glen Mor hills above. Seating is 3 seater sofa and leather bucket chair. 40" LED TV & DVD with BBC I-player and Netflix.
Bedroom: sleeps 2 people on king size double bed. There is an option to sleep extra 2 people on fold down double sofa bed in lounge.
Kitchen: fully equipped, with 4 ring gas hob, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer drier, kettle and toaster, solid oak dining table + 4 chairs. Bathroom: has a bath, with overhead shower, wash hand basin and heated towel radiator. The flat is 490 Sq.ft. with gas central heating, pressurised hot water system & double glazing.
Situated in 20 acres of grounds which includes both Loch Ness and Caledonian Canal frontage.

Fort Augustus is an ideal touring centre, with many of Scotland's most beautiful attractions within one hour drive including Eilan Donan Castle, Isle of Skye, Uruqhart Castle, Cairngorm National Park, Ben Nevis, Aonach Mor ski & mountain bike area.
Alternatively, as the property is within easy walking distance of the village, no car is needed whilst staying. There is an extensive local path network including the Great Glen Way to be explored, or just wander down to have a drink by the canal while watching the boats negotiating the series of locks which form the centre point of the village.

Please note as the flat is on the second floor accessed by stairs it is unsuitable for wheelchair users or people who have difficulty climbing stairs. No pets or smoking allowed.

Located in the heart of the Highlands, Fort Augustus is a great touring centre, with many of Scotland's most beautiful attractions within one hour drive including Eilan Donan Castle, Isle of Skye, Urquhart Castle, Cairngorm National Park, Ben Nevis, Aonach Mor ski & mountain bike area.

Fort Augustus is on the Caledonian Canal. a series of 5 locks pass through the centre of town and there is nothing better than to relax at one of the local pubs with a drink by the canal watching the boats large & small negotiate the series of locks.

Take a cruise on Loch Ness, perhaps you will see the monster, or you can catch a boat to spectacular Urquhart Castle sited further up Loch Ness.

Fort Augustus has an extensive local path network and is also on the route of the Great Glen Way and Great Glen Cycleway.
