The ownwer was very helpfull, gave us fast and informative answer on all our qestions, sent us at lot of usefull information about the appartment and the place around. The apartment was clean and modern, with all we needed for a realaxing and comfortable week. The only thing we missed was furnitures to eat and relax outdoor the appartment.

“Wonderful time in Moat House no 9!”

Reviewed 21 May 2014

We had a very enjoyable stay in Moat house no 9 in March. The property it self is charming, well appointed with everything that you would need for a holiday. Downstairs there was a well equipped kitchen, sitting room and bathroom. We did a mixture of eating out and catering for ourselves and the kitchen had everything that we needed. The welcome pack was a lovely touch! There were plenty of towels (good quality - again a nice touch!). The bedrooms upstairs were brilliant, the master bedroom was large and airy and the kids loved their beds under the eaves - another bonus for them was the tv/dvd player they could watch before bed! The apartment was nicley situated on the complex with it's own front door - there was no noise. It is situated towards the front of the complex and had easy parking. it was also close to the playground, football pitch &Tennis courts so the children were free to go out to play. it was also only a short stroll from the banks of loch ness and the village. The pool complex worked well with the booking system, so it never was too crowded. We also enjoyed a game of chess in the quadrangle! There were a couple of small supermarkets in the village and you can do larger shops in Fort william or Inverness. The villlage also had a couple of nice pubs and restauraunts. The location was stunning - lots of beautiful walks, drives and activities - even though the weather was a little damp at the time (unsurprising for March!) we had a great family break here. The Dvds in the house and the games in the recreational room in the main building kept us all amused! Although there was no WIFI in the house there was in the Lounge in the main building. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a little luxury in the highlands!

“Amazing experience in stunning location”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2013

My fiance and I stayed at this beautiful apartment. The apartment had everything we needed - having a fully equipped kitchen meant that we could cook ourselves, and what better way to eat your dinner than overlooking Loch Ness, keeping an eye out for Nessie! The place was clean and spacious, with everything we needed (tv, games) to keep us entertained in the typically Scottish Weather. The abbey itself is quite spectacular,a beautiful old building with so much history, situated right on Loch Ness. The abbey had a swimming pool, games room, tennis courts,a restaurant(!) and a large chess set in main gardens. Fort Augustus itself is a lovely quaint little village, with some lovely little pubs and restaurants, we caught a boat trip to go 'Nessie Spotting'. We made it our base location and went off to visit some of Scotland's finest Tourist attractions such as Inverness, Fort William, Ben Nevis, etc... I would definitely recommend this apartment within the Highland Club ! Owners very good to deal with, and everything was efficiently organised.

“Breathtaking Location”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2013

This was our first trip to the highlands and from the moment our journey took us through Loch Lomond we were in awe on the natural beauty of the area. The drive alone was worth a review in itself . 3 hours from Glasgow and the time flew in looking at the dramatic landscape. On reaching fort Augustus we fell in love with the quaint village the moment we arrived . The stunning Caledonian Canal runs right through the middle of the village into Loch Ness and is nestled between old stone cottages , pubs and shops. you could spend a day sitting along the bank benches watching the boats pass through the Loch. We stayed in Moathouse 9 which is situated in the Old Monastry Abbey which has been converted into the The Highland Club complex. . The grounds are situated on the bank of Loch Ness and is a 3 minute walk from the village. The Highland club has everything we needed to be entertained for the weekend from its private swimming pool and games room and the grounds also have tennis courts , football & cricket pitch plus a childrens playground Moat house 9 was situated just to the right of the main entrance to the Highland club and with no stairs or corridors to navigate it was easy to access- it even has its own garden which was great for the kids . It was perfect for us ( 2 adults& 2 kids) The Apartment was spotless and have was well equipped to look after a family of 4. There were too many activities to mention but you have to visit the Ben Nevis skiing range (40 mins away) plus the Jacobite Steam Train trip ( which is the train used in the Harry potter Movie) and the numerous Loch Ness boat Cruises This place has to be seen to be believed and the photos on the website do not do it justice. We can wait to go back next year !

“Great Apartment, Great Value”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2013

We stayed at MoatHouse 9 and had a wonderful time The apartment was beautifully finished to a high standard, fully equipped, clean, spacious and very comfortable. The Highland Club and all the facilities available to us was tremenous, great value for money! We loved eating at the BoatHouse (which was on the grounds) - a hidden treasure, it was quiet as I am sure a lot of people didn't know it was open to the public. Moathouse 9 was a perfect choice and we can't recommend it enough. We're planning a trip back this year to enjoy the rest best of the Highlands and plan to use the apartment as our base (if its available).

“FABULOUS, LUXURY APARTMENT WITH BEST SCENERY IN SCOTLAND”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2012

Beautiful, modern two storey house with high quality furnishings and all mod-cons helped make our stay feel totally luxurious. The welcome tour of the Abbey was very professional and helped us get a feel of the whole complex. Our biggest problem was dragging our two 11 year old boys away from the snooker table and table tennis table. We enjoyed a family swim and also booked the archery and tomahawk and knife throwing activities. The boys loved having a flat screen TV in their room, and we loved being able to shut the dining room door and sit at the lovely kitchen table enjoying a glass of wine and watching the rabbits on the lawn outside.
