Description

Old Lock-keeper's Cottage is a beautiful semi-detached cottage sitting next to the Caledonian Canal in Fort Augustus, in the Highlands of Scotland. It enjoys a commanding view down the flight of locks and across Loch Ness beyond.

The cottage is centrally located in the village and within easy walking distance to restaurants, pubs, shops and other amenities. Fort Augustus is the perfect base to explore the Highlands from, only 1.5 hours drive to Skye or Aviemore, 45 minutes to Inverness or Fort William and 30 minutes to the Nevis Ski Centre.

There are numerous walks and activities in and around the village, including a small golf course. Alternatively you can just sit in the garden and watch hundreds of different boats come slowly past the cottage or gaze out across Loch Ness in the hope of spotting Nessie. Pets are welcome, subject to a maximum of 4 legs. Free Wifi.
