- Very Good
Brilliant place to get away for a nice chilled weekend with my mum, dad, husband and 4 month old daughter. The owners were great and made sure we had everything we needed and the place was lovely and clean and well equipped. The pool was lots of fun and clean also. We just had an all round great weekend.
Owner's reply: Really pleased you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your nice comments. It was lovely to meet you all.
We had a most amazing break at Wibdon Barn everything and more you could ask for. Sue was very welcoming and even left a little gift for our baby girl which was a very nice thought. Pool was great which we all enjoyed with lots of toys. Only regret is you have to come home. Thanks sue and peter for letting us experiencing your barn and grounds hope to see you again soon.
Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was lovely to meet you all. Come and explore again anytime!
“Bright, sunny and luxurious”
We had a perfect stay in this beautiful accommodation. It was spotlessly clean and maintained to the highest standards. On arrival Sue and Peter made us feel welcome instantly and gave us some very useful tips concerning our planned excursions: local knowledge you won't find in a guidebook which was very much appreciated. We told them that we will be returning after midnight one evening and they thoughtfully put a little lantern in front of our door: such a lovely, warm touch. As there are many attractions and sights we weren't able to visit this time according to our tight schedule we hope to come back for a longer stay next year and would definitely recommend to stay here. Thanks again to Sue and Peter for letting us stay, they really went the extra mile!
Owner's reply: So pleased you enjoyed your tour of the area and we loved having you both stay at the Barn. Great football match in Cardiff - even better referee!! We would love to see you again - any time!
“Amazing, friendly, child friendly super stay”
The barn is beautiful, immaculate and really well decorated and very comfortable. The stunning views from the barn stretch far into the distance and include the River Severn giving an immense feeling of space and freedom and plenty of room for the kids to run around in. Sue and Peter went above and beyond, even before we got there, to make us feel exceptionally welcome and they were amazing with our children, who really didn't want to leave. Whilst staying there Sue made sure we had everything we could possibly need and also provided lots of local knowledge and guide books etc and plenty of activities for the kids. We couldn't have wished for friendlier hosts. The swimming pool was a perfect size, warm and fully equipped with all you need for fun in the water, and the climbing frame was an instant hit too. With plenty to do locally, including puzzle wood, little trains and caves we were totally spoilt on this little holiday. We will certainly go back and could not rate this property and the people highly enough, if there was an option to rate this higher than excellent, we would give it happily to Wibdon Barn.
Owner's reply: Wow!! Well, thank you. We are just pleased that you enjoyed your holiday - that's all we ever aim for and all we ever want! Little 'T's swimming lessons will start next visit with more fossil hunting for 'O'!
“A little piece of heaven”
Just returned from an amazing 5 night break, it was meant to be 4 but we had to add a night as we were enjoying so much. Sue and Peter were so welcoming and had thought of everything. Plenty of towels for the pool, a little bottle of wine for my birthday, milk, orange juice...The list goes on. The place was immaculate and so safe for our children. The pool was lovely, clean and heated well. It is situated in amazing surroundings with plenty to do in the immediate area. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you Sue and Peter for an amazing little winter break.
Owner's reply: We are just so pleased you all enjoyed yourselves! To know that you loved the pool and found lots to do - even in January - is wonderful! We would love to see you again ...... any time!
“A really great place to stay”
Wibdon Barn is situated perfectly for you to explore Wales and the Forest of Dean, easy to find and not far from the Severn Bridge with great views over the river. It's a spacious house which is well kitted out and the pool is a real added bonus. There is plenty to do at the house, especially for the children as there is a large secure garden with a play area and the owners were very friendly and helpful. The nearest town is only a few minutes up the road so you can get all your supplies and it's the perfect base to explore the local attractions from such as the Forest of Dean, Puzzlewood (A must) and Chepstow castle. I will definitely be going back again and I would recommend it to anyone looking to staying this part of the country
Owner's reply: Thank you so much, guys. We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay and were able to explore so much of the area. We would love to see you again and perhaps L can continue his swimming lessons!
We were always worried that with 2 under 2 it would be a challenge finding somewhere that could accommodate and wouldn't mind us being there. Finding Wibdon Barn has been the best hidden gem out there. We were a little late on arrival but Sue greeted us the second we arrived. She showed us around and the pictures really do not do it justice. Everything was clean tidy and she had laid out guides, maps and other bits that could help. We have enjoyed every moment here and really have felt like it's been a home from home holiday. The kids have loved it with our nearly 2 yr old running and boy did she have a big area to run in that was safe she loved it. Also she loved the pool too going in everyday sometimes twice. Both her and our boy have slept well. Can't fault the place or Sue it has been the best few days and we will definitely be coming back :) Thank you Sue for letting us stay and giving us a truely great first family holiday x
Owner's reply: Just thrilled that you were able to relax and chill after a rather eventful few months! It would be lovely if you were to come and run and shout and swim again.
“Home from home”
We arrived late at the barn but Sue offered to put on pizza which was a lovely thought. The barn is like home from home and with two bathrooms ,there would be no queuing for the bathroom.Everywhere in the barn is done to a high standard and we felt at home straight away. The barn is set in 7acres of ground and the best part was the swimming pool. which is under cover, warm and has plenty of toys to keep you amused.Chepstow Castle is 6 minutes away from the barn and it's a great ruin to explore around,at certain times of the year they do outdoor theatre. We visited Puzzlewood which is a great forest with twisty stairs, hidden doorways and secret bridges. Our boys enjoyed exploring this forest.Great place and definitely booking again.
Owner's reply: Really pleased you enjoyed exploring this lovely area and were able to relax when you got 'home'! We would love to see you agin ... Anytime!
I took the wife and my 1 year old for a weekend. The house is lovely and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The house is well equipped and well maintained. It was a great experience for my daughter, with full access to the heated pool. The garden is lovely and really big so you can enjoy a nice stroll. Sue and Peter were very welcoming and even provided necessary utensils for the BBQ. We definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants to have a holiday in Wales. We will definitely return in the future.
