Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, cedar clad lodge on the bank of the Hampshire Avon. Sleeps 4 + 2 (including Tipi) For those wanting a relaxing break, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Riverside Lodge is the perfect romantic retreat, within the New Forest National Park, ideal for one couple or adults holidaying together.

Riverside Lodge is set in a simply stunning location on the banks of the River Avon, just one mile from the town of Fordingbridge. The Lodge is in a prime location for fishing, bird watching and simply watching the world go by. The lodge comprises two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large open plan living area with the addition of a wood burner, creating a cosy atmosphere, perfect for those chillier winter evenings. Situated on one of the most beautiful and best coarse fishing rivers in the UK the Lodge literally sits on a small lake in an elevated position within yards of the river.

The bi-folding doors that open out onto the veranda, that juts out over the small lake, allow you to enjoy the surroundings from the comfort of the lodge. The pretty illuminated waterfall can be activated from the veranda.

We have now added a large Tipi, hidden away, but only 10 metres from the lodge so it is convenient to use the toilet and shower which can also be accessed from an external door. The Tipi can only be hired with the Lodge for a maximum of two additional people, so up to 6 in total The Tipi has its own electricity supply and two beds (but linen is not supplied) Please call or email for separate prices which are based on seasonal variations.

The pretty town of Fordingbridge with many eateries, convenience stores and boutiques is within 1 mile and the beautiful historic city of Salisbury is just 12 miles away.

We can offer a Hot Tub for additional cost 2-4 person available from £100

Free fishing is available in the small lake off the verandah and fishing on one swim on the river Avon and a further additional 4 swims of river fishing are available at an additional cost of £75 per person per week, subject to availability, prior to booking. There is a nearby (150 yards) paddock and stable for two horses available on a DIY basis for £100 per horse per week.

Appropriate outdoor footwear should be worn when using the lodge.

Very Good

Reviewed 7 Nov 2016

We came here for our first wedding anniversary and had the most relaxing wonderful weekend. The Lodge was so cosy and peaceful that every time we were out I was really looking forward to coming back home! The place is very new and spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. The views are incredible and we didn't see a single person all weekend through our windows. The lodge has under floor heating, which makes it lovely and warm, but it didn't seem to be in the bathrooms, so they were very cold when we opened the door. The lodge is a little walk down a path from the driveway. In order to make it easier to carry luggage in, a trolley is left by the gate on the drive. Very handy idea! Made our arrival a lot easier. On the whole, this place is very different from most other places with the lake and river on your doorstep, making it such an amazing place to stay and I would highly recommend it! We would like to come back to this place sometime.
