Our house dates back to the beginning of 1600, but don't panic, it was completely restored four years ago. It is on three floors:
- at the ground floor there is the kitchen which opens on a small garden. There is a porch with a table for eating outside with lake view;
- at the first floor there is a bedroom and a bathroom;
- at the second floor there is the master bedroom, another small bedroom (bunk bed) and the bathroom.
For relaxing outside, we have a hammock, deck chairs and barbecue. And the view on the lake and the mountains, of course.
Important: the house is in the historical centre of the village and it has no direct access by car. There is plenty of parking places nearby, all free of charges. You will have to walk 150-200 metres from the parking.
The house is in a sunny position, central in the village and quiet.

The Lombardy region
'The secret lake' is a definition of a previous guest, that perfectly fits to Iseo Lake.
Being overlooked by its most famous 'cousins' Como and Garda Lake, our lake remains mainly unknown even to italian mass tourism which prefers to head to Garda. The advantage is that the area is still unspoilt and that the touristic offer is not made 'only' for tourists, but for locals as well. We have so many beautiful places here that you will be surprised how such a gem can still be hidden from traditional touristic routes.
Fonteno is located on the hills above Iseo Lake, in Lombardy, a few kilometers away from the main low-cost airport in Italy, Milan Orio al Serio.
It 'a small village and it is called' the lake balcony 'as it offers spectacular and unforgettable views on Lake Iseo.
The village is quiet and away from mass tourism, is ideally situated being exactly halfway between Lake Iseo and Lake Endine.
On both lakes you will find tourist activities, clubs, restaurants, cafès, you can go fishing, windsurfing, sailing or relax on the small beaches.
In the middle of Iseo Lake there is Montisola, or Monte Isola, the biggest island in a lake in Europe, a pearl unknown to many but not to be missed: in its streets without traffic (cars are not allowed, there is just a mini-bus) you can get lost in fishing villages, breath the scent of the lake and eat in the many fish taverns.
Why not also try a mini cruise? The consortium of navigation on Lake Iseo has several very interesting proposals, such as day cruises with or without guided tours or romantic evening cruises with dinner on board and music. The ferry leaves at 6 km from our house.
In Lovere there is a windsurfing and sailing school and a large swimming pool. The town of Lovere is listed into the most beautiful villages in Italy.
In Fonteno there are two cafès, two restaurants, three playgrounds, two agriturismo (rural restaurants in farms), a post office, two grocery stores.

"House off the beaten path"
.Well appointed house with lovely views. Living with the locals in a rural village. Toys and games in the house for rainy days. Loads of walks in the area. Car is essential .Not suitable for old or infirm because of access paths. Local recommended restaurant were both good and cheap
