On the ground floor you’ll find a wonderful living and kitchen area. The living area features a comfortable sofa and two armchairs, and is a great place to relax. The large window behind the sofa floods the room with light, while the wood-burning stove - complete with impressive granite lintel - provides a great centrepiece and keeps the place delightfully warm on cooler nights. There’s also a Freeview TV, complete with DVD player, so that you can keep yourselves entertained if you just fancy a quiet night in.

The newly fitted kitchen boasts sleek worktops, a large breakfast bar and all the mod cons you could ask for. Preparing your own meals will be a breeze with the brand-new electric oven and hob, while the dishwasher takes the chore out of cleaning up after cooking. There’s also a washing machine, so your beach towels and trunks are always ready to go, no matter how much time you spend on the sand!

A pair of steps lead down to the separate dining area, where the four of you can sit and enjoy your meals in comfort. The double doors to the courtyard area can be thrown open to let the freshness and the sounds of the outside in. There is also a table and chairs in this outside space, so you can make the most of the sunshine with alfresco dining.

You’ll find the property’s two bedrooms upstairs. Bedroom one comes with a luxurious king-size bed that is so comfortable you’d be forgiven for spending your entire holiday in it. Storage is provided by the wardrobe, chest of drawers, and bedside tables, so you can unpack properly and truly feel at home. For added convenience, this room benefits from an ensuite, in which you will find a bath with shower over, WC and hand basin.

Bedroom two has twin single beds, bedside tables and a large storage cupboard. Just across the hall is the family bathroom, which, like the ensuite in the master bedroom, is entirely new. This room is soft and welcoming, with wooden floors, a corner shower unit, WC and hand basin.

Every care has been taken to make The Corner House into a comfortable and luxurious place to stay. Luxury cotton towels and bed linen are provided, and Wi-Fi is available free of charge to keep you connected. The cottage also benefits from an efficient new heating system to make sure there is always hot water on demand, so you never have to wait for a relaxing bath or to hop in the shower.

The village of Flushing has plenty to see and do, with two pubs, a dog friendly beach, a working quay and the beautiful coast path to enjoy.

Flushing is conveniently located just across the river from Falmouth, which you can access via boat or car. Falmouth offers a range of things to see and do, including interesting local shops as well as national retailers, bakeries and takeaways, cafes, pubs, restaurants and attractions, including the National Maritime Museum.

From Falmouth you can enjoy easy transport links to other popular areas of Cornwall. Staying in Flushing gives you the perfect combination of tranquillity and accessibility.

Location description from manager

The England region

Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community. The Flushing Regatta and Flushing Art Week are two annual fixtures not to be missed that the whole community embraces.

Flushing has two friendly pubs - The Standard, which was recently renovated and offers excellent food, and The Seven Stars, a more traditional pub with an equally extensive menu. There is also a super seafood restaurant located on the quay and a friendly well-stocked general store.

A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro.

Flushing

Flushing was a highly desirable place of residence in the eighteenth century and home to many wealthy Packet Ship captains and their families. It continues to retain its appeal to this day with its elegant candy coloured houses that hug the waterfront, observing the colourful vessels that ply the waters, and surrounded by peaceful countryside.

Sailing enthusiasts have access to some of the best sailing waters, several sailing schools and waterside pubs and walking enthusiasts are spoilt with peaceful riverside and woodland footpaths. Flushing is reputed to have the mildest climate in the UK, encouraging Spring to arrive early, Autumn to arrive late and flowers to bloom year round.

The vibrant year round resort of Falmouth is within a short drive or there is a passenger ferry from nearby Flushing Quay. Falmouth appeals to all tastes and ages with its world class beaches and restaurants, excellent shopping and coastal golf course.
