Description

The Blue House, originally part of a chapel, is one of four houses nestled together at the end of a pretty street as it bends towards the waterfront in the delightful village of Flushing. As pretty inside as it is out, The Blue House was one of the first properties we discovered in this wonderful village and still holds a special place in our hearts.

This three-bedroomed house has been stylishly furnished with great attention to detail and an emphasis on high quality. Polished wooden and Cornish slate floors combine with fresh white walls and touches of soft blue and pebble colours to create a seaside feel throughout. Contemporary without being cold, this generously proportioned house is full of character and charm, enhanced by cosy soft furnishings and carefully selected pieces of art often echoing the nautical theme.

Once inside this house, a light, generous hallway laid with grey Cornish slate floor leads you through into an impressive living space. This open-plan lounge/diner matches the same fresh theme as the rest of the interior, with white painted walls, polished wooden floor and neutral furniture brightened by splashes of colour.

The dining area houses an extending oak table with leather chairs which will comfortably sit six and, in the lounge, a huge sofa and 2 chairs offer a cosy welcome by the wood-burner. Should you wish to spend a lazy evening in front of a film after a long day at the beach, this room is fully equipped with a flat-screen television, a DVD player and a comprehensive DVD and book library. Complimentary high-speed broadband Wifi is also available.

The kitchen at the Blue House is a sunny room, its white walls and contemporary tiles flooding the light that streams in through the windows and the skylight in the vaulted ceiling. Following the seaside theme, the owners have chosen pretty blue painted cabinets to contrast with the grey slate floor, granite worktops and chrome fittings.

Quality is paramount in the kitchen as it is throughout this lovely property and the kitchen is no exception; it has been fully equipped with modern appliances including a built-in dishwasher and washer-dryer, to ensure that the time you spend catering for your family on holiday is as stress free as possible.

The table and pretty chairs in this room, provide the perfect place to sit and enjoy a peaceful, early morning coffee. For those holidaying with young children a high chair is available at the property.

Step outside the kitchen and you have the ideal venue for an early evening aperitif. The Blue House's Mediterranean-style courtyard is furnished with a good-sized table and chairs and tastefully decorated with whitewashed walls and thoughtful planting.

On the first floor, you will find a luxury family bathroom. Laid with a Cornish slate floor, this room is stylishly furnished with a contemporary white suite of deep bath and a W.C, chrome fittings and white tiling with pretty pebble detail. Quality towels and soaps are provided for your use.

Also on this floor are two spacious bedrooms. The main bedroom is located to the front of the house and boasts a king-size bed. The second bedroom has twin single.

Climb to the top floor of this characterful house and you are greeted by an impressive loft bedroom with twin single beds and an en-suite shower room with W.C. Furnished to the same high quality standard as the family bathroom below, the shower room has a Cornish slate floor, a contemporary white suite and chrome fittings. Quality bed linen is provided throughout.

All parking in Flushing is on-street and free of charge, and guests will usually be able to find a space outside the house or close by without too much difficulty. In addition The Blue House has a reserved parking space approximately 350 yards from the property should it be required.

The Blue House is a seaside home from home with a luxurious edge. We think you will love it just as much as we do.

Location description from manager

The England region

Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall and reputed to be the world's third largest natural harbour. Falmouth has four family friendly beaches Gyllyngvase, Castle, Swanpool and Maenporth all of which provide a clean and safe environment in which to relax and swim and, of course, build sandcastles.

Flushing

Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community. The Flushing Regatta and Flushing Art Week are two annual fixtures not to be missed that the whole community embraces.

Flushing has two friendly pubs - The Standard, which was recently renovated and offers excellent food, and The Seven Stars, a more traditional pub with an equally extensive menu. There is also a stunning waterside seafood restaurant located on the quay, and a friendly well-stocked general store.

A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summ
