Description

This wonderful holiday house is the perfect holiday retreat for large families or groups. The house itself was built to be a former 'Packet Ship' captains residence, and enjoys a south westerly aspect with views across the water to the harbour and colourful town of Falmouth.
The attractive front door leads into the large hallway, on the left is the cosy snug with open fire and plenty of books and games to enjoy, a useful boot room and ground floor WC can also be found off the hallway. The seperate kitchen/dining room is a fantastic part of the house, with full height fridge freezer, central island and dishwasher along with a large dining table and french doors onto the sunny terrace - why not take breakfast outside?
Full of history, guests can lap up the Cornish character of this pretty house, the cobbled passage to the left runs through to the courtyard at the back, once home to a horse and groom - ideal for sandy children and wet dogs and also storing sailing / beach

Full of history, guests can lap up the Cornish character of this pretty house, the cobbled passage to the left runs through to the courtyard at the back, once home to a horse and groom - ideal for sandy children and wet dogs and also storing sailing / beach gear! This leads to a useful utility room and a seperate playroom - a children's haven with their very own games room complete with flat screen TV, games console and toys.
The first floor benefits from a second sitting room with window seats from which to enjoy the water views, a flat screen TV and large sofas and chairs.
Also at the front of the house are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and water views, the second with twin singles while the family bathroom has a large shower and roll top bath.
A hallway leads to the rear of the house where you will find two further bedrooms, one with twin single beds plus a cabin style bunk bed for children - this room also has an en-suite shower-room. The pretty fourth bedroom has a double bed with a door to the garden.
To the rear of the house, are two secluded courtyard seating areas, which lead to the utility room and games room. Steps rise up into a quiet lawned garden with covered pergola for Alfresco Dining and a further seating area for stargazing. This part of the garden takes in the glorious panoramic river views, down towards the harbour, the Greenbank and back towards the colourful Falmouth town.
Arundell House is a rare find, a glorious historic property with water views, stylishly decorated, plenty of space and flexible accommodation for all the family.

The England region

Flushing

Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community. The Flushing Regatta and Flushing Art Week are two annual fixtures not to be missed that the whole community embraces.

Flushing has two friendly pubs - The Standard, which was recently renovated and offers excellent food, and The Seven Stars, a more traditional pub with an equally extensive menu. There is also a stunning waterside seafood restaurant located on the quay, and a friendly well-stocked general store.

A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summer the Fal River boats offer trips to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, and onwards to Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay.

Flushing is easy to reach by car. Penryn is the nearest rail station and connects to mainline services at Truro, which has a direct rail link to London (Paddington) with a journey time of approximately 4 hours. There is also a regular local bus service. Air travellers can fly from London Stansted or Gatwick to Newquay.
