Should you prefer to dine indoors, you can enjoy the comings and goings on the water from the comfort of a particularly lovely dining room, circular in shape and boasting a large bay window. The kitchen at The Point is a large, sunny room which has been fitted with modern units incorporating a breakfast bar, and follows a white and blue colour scheme. The owners have equipped the kitchen with a range of modern appliances including a double fan-assisted oven, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. A side door provides access to the patio area and the wonderful gardens here.

These have been cleverly landscaped to provide a choice of distinct areas from which to enjoy the far-reaching sea views. The upper area of the garden has been laid to lawn and features colourful flower borders. Follow the lawn down and you arrive at a truly special spot at the bottom of the garden; a decked seating area with table and chairs overlooking the water. A flight of steps takes you further down across the rocks to a secluded beach: Truly magical.

The Point offers four spacious bedrooms, sleeping eight in comfort. The impressive master suite is located on the ground floor. Boasting a king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom with large walk-in shower, it has a luxurious feel and is classically decorated in pale colours and furnished with sumptuous fabrics. The standout feature here is the French doors leading to a terrace with fabulous, far-reaching views.
Three further bedrooms, all tastefully decorated with pale walls and colourful soft furnishings, are located upstairs. A large double bedroom with dual-aspect windows, a smaller double and a lovely twin room all boast wonderful southerly views across the water towards Falmouth bay. A spacious family bathroom, equipped with white W.C. and bath with shower over, is also found on the first floor. There is also an additional W.C. Quality bed linen and towels are provided throughout.

The gardens are a particular feature at The Point. To the side of the property is a secluded terraced area perfect for al-fresco dining. The upper area of the garden is lawned, and leads down to a decked dining area with spectacular views across the bay and out to sea. Further steps lead down across the rocks to an amazing area of private beach.

Flushing is perfectly placed to explore all of Cornwall. it is one known to be one of the warmest villages in the UK because it has an idyllic sheltered south-facing aspect, between the banks of the Penryn River and Falmouth Harbour.

It became popular in the eighteenth century as the choice location for the wealthy Packet Ship captains, and was visited by Admiral Nelson. Latterly it has become one of the most sought-after locations anywhere in the West Country. Flushing has an unrivalled mild climate, streets lined with picture-postcard traditional terraced fisherman’s cottages, and beautiful unspoilt surrounding countryside.

There is also easy access onto some of the best sailing waters anywhere in the West Country, with the Helford River, the Fal Estury, Falmouth Bay and Mylor Yacht Harbour all within reach. Flushing also has a Sailing Club that welcomes guests, and it’s own dog-friendly beach.

Flushing

Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community. The Flushing Regatta and Flushing Art Week are two annual fixtures not to be missed that the whole community embraces.

Flushing has two friendly pubs - The Standard, which was recently renovated and offers excellent food, and The Seven Stars, a more traditional pub with an equally extensive menu. There is also a stunning seafood restaurant located on the quay, and a friendly well-stocked general store.

A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summer the Fal River boats offer trips to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, and onwards to Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay.
