The Tuscany region
Tuscany is known for its landscapes, traditions, history, artistic legacy and its influence on high culture. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and has been home to many figures influential in the history of art and science, and contain well-known museums such as the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace. Tuscany produces wines, including Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino.
Seven Tuscan localities have been designated World Heritage Sites: the historic centre of Florence (1982); the historical centre of Siena (1995); the square of the Cathedral of Pisa (1987); the historical centre of San Gimignano (1990); the historical centre of Pienza (1996); the Val d'Orcia (2004), and Medici Villas and Gardens (2013). Tuscany has over 120 protected nature reserves, making Tuscany and its capital Florence a popular tourist destinations that attract millions of tourists every year. (In 2007, the city became the world's 46th most visited city, with over 1.715 million arrivals).
The centre of Florence was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. It is located among a number of avenues within its former Medieval walls and is home to some of the most important cultural features of the city. The history of the city in this area dates back to the year 59 B.C with the construction of a village (Florentia) for the settlement of the soldiers of the Roman army. From this moment onwards it began to flourish. A number of different dominations have passed through its streets and are reflected in a great wealth of interesting architecture: Byzantine, Ostrogoths and Lombards for example. This was the birthplace of the Renaissance, and is known as one of the universal cradles of art and architecture where names such as Dante Alighieri, Brunelleschi (most important Renaissance architect) Boccaccio and Leonardo Da Vinci first appeared. Today the centre of Florence offers a whole range of cultural, tourist and leisure activities. It is considered a paradise for shopping and entertainment with top fashion boutiques, historical cafeterias and busy open air markets as well as numerous options for night life including clubs, discos, American bars and a variety of meeting places for an aperitif. The Piazza del Duomo is located at the heart of the city with the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, the Campanario de Giotto, and the Battistero de San Giovanni. A walk down to the river Arno leads to the Palacio Medici Riccardi, the Basilica de San Lorenzo de Brunelleschi and the Galleria dellAccademia that houses a number of famous works of art including the famous pieces of David de Michelangelo. Another worthwhile visit is the Piazza de la Santissima Annunziata with its Ospedale degli Innocenti, the very first orphanage in Europe and one of the very first Renaissance structures. Two very famous buildings, the Palazzo Vecchio and the Galleria degli Uffizi, are also just a short distance away, and an absolutely stunning must-see for any art or architecture lovers.

"Strategic location with Arno river view.."
Big apartment (three bathrooms, three bedrooms .....) furnished with everything you need and also with air conditioning. Very beautiful terrace overlooking the Arno river where we could dine out every night. It is accessed from the kitchen through a large sliding glass door. The car park is in the garage of the building. The bedrooms are at the back so no noise disturbs sleep. The apartament is not so far from the Ponte Vecchio (500/700 meters), so we visited the city every day by foot and starting from the apartament . The owner was very friendly and gives all the info requested fot the stay.

The apartment was great. It was spacious and comfortable for our family of 5 with an amazing patio we enjoyed a number of times. Piero and Cinzia provide us with points of interest in Florence, local store to buy food, as well as, wine and other items for our arrival. There is a train near the apartment that connects to S.M.N.; however, the walk is very enjoyable along the river. We would definitely use this apartment again in Florence.
Thanks ! !

Our family of 6 adults (Parents and our sons with their girlfriends)were greeted by Piero and very carefully shown this lovely apartment. He helped us park the car and made sure that we felt safe and secure. We loved the location on the river and enjoyed the walk into Florence. There was a HUGE supermarket very close by. The apartment is exactly as described with lovely extras like brioches left out for breakfast and plenty of condiments, milk , butter and oil left for our use. The apartment was spotless and clean. We had a wonderful stay, all of us slept well. We were warm and I loved cooking for the family in the kitchen while they sat around the round table. I felt like a real Italian Mama ! The only thing to be aware of is the internet is not unlimited, but it was plenty for us to check emails on. We would absolutely stay here again, and are very happy to recommend it.
Thank you enjoyed our hospitality. The free Internet access is 1 GB (gigabytes) per day at high speed. It is a very high limit that allows you to do everything you need (including long skype video calls). Guests who need to make a greater volume of Internet traffic may request a limit wider at no additional cost.

"A lovely apartment with a friendly and helpful owner"
We had a really good time here. The apartment is spacious and light and right by the river, The only slight niggle we had was that the balcony is noisy (traffic). There are shops nearby, and a couple of good restaurants just across the road. Piero was there to welcome us and gave us lots of useful information and advice about travel, shopping and sights. It is a 20 minute walk from the centre, and there are also buses from a block away.
Thanks to the accurate reviews, which will certainly be useful to my future guests. We are in the center of Florence. The traffic problem is limited to the hours of entry / exit from the offices and schools. In the evening now particularly the traffic is effectively absent. All my guests usually stay and dine on the terrace overlooking the river. This is confirmed by the dozens of reviews that we have on other channels. All rooms and the second large covered terrace overlooking the private internal areas without traffic.

Very spacious, well appointed and cosy apartment, overlooking the river .Quiet and private . Each bathroom was well appointed as well as kitchen. We were also made to feel welcome with a christmas tree , lit up and xmas decorations in the loungeroom. The owner went out of his way to met us , even though we arrived at an unscheduled time , later in the evening.
Thank you. We manage the home personally as if it were our own (in fact it was) updating the furniture and details (plants, flowers, decorations, supplies for the kitchen ...) depending on the season. The aim is to offer a family-style hospitality and always treated in detail. Christmas is not Christmas without a big tree and decorative lights, a typical Italian cake and a bottle of wine Chianti !!
