The apartment is very large 100m² and elegant and consists of a large living room (50m²), 2 large bedrooms (24m² and 15m²), 2 bathrooms, a kitchenette. The bedrooms are respectively equipped with a double bed and two singles -OR- as an alternative to request both rooms with double bed. The master bedroom has a double sofa-bed. The apartment can therefore sleep up to six people. On demand both Bedroom can be equipped with double bed without additional fee.

Located on the top floor of a historic building in one of the most elegant streets of Florence, Via Maggio. Here it is in the center of Florence and in a less contaminated by mass tourism, still lived by the Florentines or by foreigners but reside for long periods. From here you can reach every part of this beautiful city just walk away, no need for a car. Of course, it is very well served by public transport. This area is also full of very good restaurants, typical and authentic, bars and places where you can spend the night (during the summer many shows are organized in Piazza Santo Spirito). Despite being a very lively area, the house, being on the top floor, is silent. The rooms then onto a lower internal courtyard which then did not hear any noise. The apartment has an elevator.

The apartment is also 5 minutes away from Boboli park, the Renaissance park of Florence and also one of the biggest.

If you have car, the apartment is about 950 meter far away from the public parking "Piazza della Calza". The cost is 20€ a day and 2€ per hour.

The Palace:

The apartment is located on the top floor of a building dating back at least to 1700. The lift goes directly to the apartment with a private access key protected. So as remembered by a plaque on the facade, Giovacchino TADDEI, a distinguished chemist and pharmacist. lived in the palace for most of his life around the middle of 800.

The place:

the building is located approximately in the middle of Via Maggio. I quote from wikipedia: "... By the second half of the fourteenth century to the Velluti family had joined other prominent families, such as Corsini, Biliotti, Michelozzi, Pitti, Capponi, Ridolfi, who built their palaces on the street, for the beauty and the substantial width for the time, was soon called "via Maggiore."(=greater street)

During the sixteenth century became one of the most aristocratic streets of the city, when the noble families vied with each other to build beautiful buildings on his hips after the seat of the grand-ducal court had been moved from Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti, just one block away ... "

We are therefore in the heart of Florence in one of the still more beautiful and elegant, antique street. Going to the River Arno, has to his right and to his left respectively Palazzo Pitti and Piazza Santo Spirito, continuing and crossing the Ponte Santa Trinita (where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Old Bridge) you get to Via de Tornabuoni, the street where there are Gucci, Ferragamo etc. We are therefore in the historical heart of the Florentine Renaissance.

The Tuscany region

Just quoting from wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuscany): "...Tuscany is known for its gorgeous landscapes, its rich artistic legacy and its influence on high culture. Tuscany is regarded as the true birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and has been home to some many influential people in the history of arts and science, such as Petrarch, Dante, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Niccolo Machiavelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Amerigo Vespucci, Luca Pacioli and Puccini. As a result of this, the region has several museums (such as the Uffizi, the Pitti Palace and the Chianciano Museum of Art). Tuscany has a unique culinary tradition, and is famous for its wines (most famous of which are Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino)..."

The regional capital is Florence (Firenze).

Just quoting from wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florence): "...The historic centre of Florence attracts millions of tourists each year, and Euromonitor International ranked the city as the world's 72nd most visited in 2009, with 1,685,000 visitors.[5] It was declared a World Heritage Site UNESCO in 1982. Due to Florence's artistic and architectural heritage, it has been ranked by Forbes as one of the most beautiful cities in the world,[6] and the city is noted for its history, culture, Renaissance art and architecture and monuments.[7] The city also contains numerous museums and art galleries, such as the Uffizi Gallery and the Pitti Palace, amongst others, and still exerts an influence in the fields of art, culture and politics.[8]..."

I stayed here for a month with my mom, grandmother, aunt, and cousin. It was a warm September so it was a good thing there was air conditioning. Otherwise, the apartment is nice and airy when you open the windows. You can hear the street outside, but it's not too loud because it's on the top floor. The apartment had all the necessities, was very clean, and nicely furnished. There was an abundance of blankets and pillows, which I loved. Even if the kitchen seems rather small, we were able to cook wonderful family meals. The apartment itself is quite big, and the living room had enough space for us to do yoga in! The best thing about this place is the location! The Oltrarno is so charming! In Piazza Santo Spirito just around the corner, there's a daily market for fresh greens and other things, as well as great restaurants and places for an aperitivo. You have to cross the Ponte Santa Trinita to get to the historic center, but crossing the bridge was my favorite part of the day! It's a beautiful bridge, with a beautiful sunset view, and so many interesting people passing by. Just at the corner of Via Maggio before the bridge is the BEST gelateria in Florence. This apartment made our stay in Florence absolutely perfect!
