This authentic country family house is set right on the Dordogne river in a charming small French village. The house has 5 bedrooms and sleeps 10. The pool (12mx5m) sits in a large, completely closed garden. There is a stair to the river bank and a private ladder down to the dock. The river is one of the cleanest in France, boasting many activities as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating and fishing. The town has a grocery store and a typical French restaurant. During the summer, the village hosts evening markets and fairs.Flaujagues is about 15kms from St Emilion, the world famous wine town, 45 kms from Bordeaux, about an hour and 15mins from the Atlantic coast via the Bassin d'Arcachon, famous for its oysters. There is a golf course opening in Gardegan, about 10kms away. Entre Deux Mers is famous for its wine as well, many vineyards cover the rolling hills, more and more of them are eco-friendly.The house is perfect for a relaxing holiday, local markets provide homegrown foods

Southwest France, Aquitaine, is known for its gourmet cooking, wine and countryside. The Perigord has beautiful villages and architecture, Périgueux, and the famous Lascaux Caves.The Atlantic coast stretches for miles, sandy beaches and boating.The Pyrénées are not far, skiing in the winter, swimming in Biarritz in the summer. The Basque country is only a couple of hours away from Flaujagues.

Flaujagues

Flaujagues is the eastern most tip of the Gironde, right next to the Dordogne region. This region is known for its gently rolling hills, vineyards and chateaus, authentic villages and restaurants. There are many sights to see, the road to St Jacques Compostelle passes through, the Cathars are not far.Biking the Dordogne valley is a favorite, hiking and horseback riding too. The Dordogne river flows into the Atlantic and up near Flaujagues, the river is clean and is not affected by the tide. Small river boats can cruise with kayaks and canoes.
