Description

Villa Rosa is an 18th century farmhouse which has been restored by Sophie and Luca to a high standard into a beautiful home.

The Villa is situated in the hills of Northern Tuscany, in a region called Lunigiana, a land rich of history, culture and culinary traditions.

It is in a small hamlet called Spicciano in which the 'real Italy' so rarely seen now on the regular tourist trail can be experienced. Surrounded by olive groves, grape vines and apple orchards, it is the Italy people dream about. Spicciano has a population of c.40 people, there are no shops and the only sounds to be heard are of the locals and the cattle coming off the fields. Spicciano is a 5 minute car drive from the large town of Fivizzano, where shops, bars and restaurants can be found.

The stone courtyard (aia) is surrounded by the original house - Villa Rosa, a barn (fienile) in which the animals and hay used to be kept and another outbuilding which is now a games room, with table tennis table.
The private pool it is separated by the rest of the garden by a wooden fence, to make it safe for the kids.
The garden also feature a trampoline with enclosure.
A patio protected by a wisteria pergola on the back of the house and facing the garden is the ideal place for alfresco dining.

The main house sleeps 10+ people, is available to let all year round and has accomodation made up as follows:
Ground floor: kitchen, dining room, bathroom, winter lounge, summer lounge, laundry room.
First floor: 4 double bedrooms each with ensuite shower room. 2 single bedrooms directly off 2 of the double. The 2 single beds each have a pull out single bed underneath.

Free WIFI and UK TV is available.

“An AMAZING home away from home!”

I've travelled to Villa Rosa on several occasions experiencing the unique environment in spring, summer and winter. It's a large, spacious and beautifully appointed house that is ideal for families and groups of friends as a base to explore amazing Tuscany and Liguria. The contemporary decor of the house feels like it's straight out of Country Living magazine and has been renovated with a lot of care and attention taken over the details of each en suite room and the large living areas, it clearly also functions as a family home. The result is a place that invites you to relax and immediately feel comfortable and at home. There's a large garden, beautiful large swimming pool, safely fenced off for children, games room and outdoor cooking facilities with both a BBQ and wood-fired pizza oven. I recommend Villa Rosa for family holidays, exploring Tuscany, relaxing or for cosy winter escapes... there's a wood burning stove, and ski slopes a short drive away! The owners provide a luxury welcome hamper and full details of the history of Villa Rosa and all of the things to do in the area. They both speak perfect English and Italian and nothing is too much trouble, they clearly love their home and want guests to feel the same way.
