“Great House - Perfect Location for Exploring Cape Town”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2012

My family stayed at David and Lyn's place in Fish Hoek, South Africa for a week in July. The house was perfect. The view out onto False Bay was magnificent. The home was well equipped and spacious. When we arrived we were meet by the property manager, Gill. She was very kind and helped us get settled and oriented. We had a great week. We went to a Rugby match in Cape Town, visited the Cape of Good Hope (amazing), visited the Penguins in Simons Town, and went out to Hermanus to see the whales (not to be missed). The house is only 35 minutes away from Cape Town. It's an easy drive. There are a lot of good places to eat drink in the area. Our favorite was the Brass Bell on the waterfront up the road in Kalb Bay. David and Lyn were very responsive when we had questions. You cannot go wrong renting their place for your holiday. We had a great time.

“A Beautiful Home In A Wonderful Setting”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2012

This is a beautiful home, that offers everything thing that you could want on holiday... It is very clean, very well appointed and spacious, excellent for large or small groups or as we were just the two of us, it also has a lovely splash pool and sun deck where you can enjoy your meals or simply chill out. The house has privacy with secure parking, stunning views, close to a wonderful beach, excellent restaurantsand very good shopping close by. This is truly a wonderful holiday home.

“Stunning”

Second visit. Fell in love with the oustanding views each day, which reminded me of Mount's Bay in West Cornwall. Great arrangement of accommodation that afforded privacy as needed. lots to do within easy reach, even if you don't have a car. Very clean and very well presented.

“Spacious House with magnificent views”

Reviewed 2 May 2012

Magnificent views over the ocean to the majestic mountains in the distance is the sight that greets you from just about every aspect of this lovely home. The accommodation is very spacious and comfortable. The four bedrooms offer privacy when needed and the open plan kitchen/dining area and lounge is perfect for socializing and relaxing and of course gazing over the ocean with a very good chance of spotting seals, dolphins and even whales. The outdoor entertainment area has a barbecue and you can splash around in the pool watching the sun set. Cape town is a mere 35 minute drive by car and just over an hour on the train, with the train station a 5 minute walk from the house.A shuttle bus to the V & A waterfront is located just outside the railway station. Here you will find trendy bars and restaurants, shopping and street entertainment. Various sea cruises leave from here and recommend one of the sunset cruises which include sparkling wine and wonderful views of Table Mountain as the sun sets. Simonstown and Kalk Bay about 5 minutes away by car. We recommend the Brass Bell in Kalk Bay and Bertha's in Simonstown two restaurants that offer great food and spectacular views. Boat cruises leave from the harbour area at Simonstown and we can recommend doing the shark cage dive. The wine lands are about an hours drive from the house. We had a superb lunch at Klein Zalze but most vineyards offer good food. Also look out for vineyards that offer free wine tastings. A word of warning, alcohol is not sold in shops in Fishhoek and none sold on a Sunday except in restaurants and bars so you will need to stock up for the weekend. We suggest you take your own binoculars as they are required as you scan the seas for sea life. We stayed for 2 weeks and had a mid break service which was most welcome. We did arrive earlier that anticipated but the rental manager was most accommodating and let us in earlier. Overall a fantastic stay and brilliant venue.
