Description

Villa Fiscardo View, Fiscardo Free wifi The name of this Villa is really a misnomer, as the captivating view from this beautifully finished Villa is not only Fiscardo Bay but also the islands of Lefkas, Meganisi and fabled Ithaka. With uninterrupted sea views on three sides, it's unbeatable for utter relaxation and for those who prefer to have the best sea view from their poolside; who desire no extra entertainment than a good book, the occasional cooling dip in a pool and a nearby, a well-stocked fridge with something to put on the barbecue as sun goes down. T here are small bays to discover close at hand, tavernas to eat at, some beautiful post card beaches, a harbour full of little bobbing boats, but sometimes they just have to wait………… Behind high sliding gates, stone-paved terraces inset with beds of flowering shrubs and olive trees give a lovely first impression to this charming Villa, which has most of the accommodation laid out over the ground

T here are small bays to discover close at hand, tavernas to eat at, some beautiful post card beaches, a harbour full of little bobbing boats, but sometimes they just have to wait………… Behind high sliding gates, stone-paved terraces inset with beds of flowering shrubs and olive trees give a lovely first impression to this charming Villa, which has most of the accommodation laid out over the ground floor. The lovely light and spacious living room furnished, in keeping with its nautical view with bright blue sofas, opens to the terrace by means of twin French doors. There is a satellite TV and DVD player and a fireplace for cooler evenings each end of the season. Through a stone archway, the well equipped kitchen is attractively finished with prettily coloured kitchen units and matching tiles. A dining table beside French doors makes an excellent breakfast spot when you are not eating outside. Plus a side door off the kitchen is opposite the BBQ area. To the other side of the living room a hallway leads to a double bedroom, with ensuite shower room and a twin bedroom and bathroom (short bath). Each bedroom has French doors to a furnished covered terrace, with bench seating and a wood table and chairs. Sitting alone on the first floor the lovely master bedroom whose sloping ceiling rises into the eaves, has a smart ensuite shower room and through French doors, a covered balcony - and an exceptional look-out point of the coastline. The lovely 8m x 4m swimming pool (depth 1.4m – 1,7m) is set into the lower paved terrace, with sunbeds and sunshades. This is a Villa hard to leave, and whilst it is only a 10 min drive from Fiscardo and somewhat less to the pretty little beach of Foki, the temptation will be to just stay in your lovely surroundings, checking the little flotillas of yachts in and out of the bay, watching the fishing boats haul in their catch, timing that the ferries are running on schedule and generally enjoying the peace of your surroundings and amazing view. There is a minimarket (for stocking that fridge) and several tavernas within 5 mins drive, but if you like your meals accompanied by the sound and smell of the sea, then you'll have to go a little further and a 10 mins drive will take you into the extremely picturesque harbour at Fiskardo.

The Ionian Islands region

Fiscardo

Fiskardo, in the north of the island, is unique amongst the other villages on the island for having almost entirely escaped the ravages of the 1953 earthquakes and so the old buildings still stand amongst the pine trees in this natural bay.

This picturesque Venetian fishing harbour has, of recent years, become a fashionable stopping point for some of the smarter pleasure boats sailing the Ionian. Fishing boats, selling freshly caught fish in the mornings will be seen tied up cheek by jowl along the harbour front with the most indulgent of sailing boats, play things of the rich and occasionally, famous . A choice of excellent quayside tavernas, serving fresh fish and other traditional fare, make good vantage points to keep an eye on the com
