The Yorkshire region
The Yorkshire coastal towns of Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington have been attracting visitors for hundreds of years who come to enjoy the miles of clean sandy beaches, pretty fishing ports and to walk along magnificent cliff top paths. All along the coast visitors will be able to find a contrast of family friendly resorts and quieter little fishing ports which, all in all, offers something for everyone.
North Yorkshire boasts two National Parks, The North York Moors and The Yorkshire Dales. Both areas are stunning and perfect for walkers, cyclists, climbers and for exploring by car or motorbike.
This ideal position near the beach offers either a relaxing holiday or for those a little more energetic cliff top walks in both directions, or for the adventurous - surf boarding. Hunmanby Gap is approx 3 miles south of the fishing town of Filey.
Hunmanby Gap and the glorious, flat sandy beaches here and at Reighton are fantastic places for just enjoying the wonderful scenery:
high cliffs of dark clay
big skies, and even bigger seas..!
We like to walk along these stunning beaches and just let the dog run free - just to relax and take in the re-juvenating quiet of the beach.
The beaches are so massive that they nearly always feel quite deserted, even when it is actually quite busy!
The cliffs are tall round here, and as they are made of clay tend to be quite crumbly. We've found a good place to get down to the beach at Hunmanby Gap.
In Winter there's space to park a few cars only at the bottom of Sands Road, whilst in Summer a nearby field is opened up for car parking at a minimal charge.
In the Summer, it is nice to start (or finish) your walk on the beach with a visit to the cliff top cafe (and toilets - very useful!). While the fare is basic - just what you would expect from this sort of seaside cafe/snack bar - the views more than compensate!

We stayed here to have some quality time with our grown up children. A beautifully presented bungalow very roomy, everything we needed and lovely and warm even on cold days. The views are amazing over the sea. For anyone wanting to escape the hectic lifes we all lead these days it is perfect. I would recomend to anyone.
Thank you for great review. Hope we will see you again. The Simplcity Holiday Team

Had a lovely 3 night break in this bungalow. Amazing views, 5 minute walk to the beautiful beach (ideal for body bording) and so close to filey, scarborough and other seaside towns. The bungalow had everything we needed and was spotless, 10/10 to the cleaning company. Would recommend a stay here to anyone :)
Thank you so much for your review, it's always good to get such great feedback from our guests. We'll pass your comments onto our Housekeeping Team about the cleanliness. Regards The Simplicity Holiday Team
