The Yorkshire region

FILEY
Yorkshire's
hidden gem

Tucked between the better known seaside resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington on Yorkshire's east coast, Filey is remarkably unspoiled and simply delightful. With its long stretch of sandy bay and sheltered beaches protected by Filey Brigg, the town is buzzing with cafés and bars alongside galleries, gift shops and traditional grocers, butchers and bakers.

Northern England

The beach is lovely for small children, with safe bathing as well as an array of activities for everyone else, including surfing, sailing and fishing, riding and an 18 hole golf course.

Many people also come to Filey to watch the birds, at either the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, Filey Brigg and the Dams Nature Reserve.
Filey is also at the end of two well known long distance footpaths, The Cleveland Way and The Wolds Way. And for more walking and mountain biking, try Ryedale and the North York Moors, including towns such as Pickering, Helmsley, Malton and the village of Goathland (Heartbeat Country).

But whether you're walking, cycling, touring or simply pottering about on the beach in the rockpools, Filey is an ideal base for a relaxing holiday and exploring Yorkshire.

“Fantastic Location and Apartment”

Reviewed 31 Mar 2014

Clean and spacious apartment with modern decor. It was warm and inviting. Close to the centre of Filey but just far enough out to be quiet. Close to the beach too. What else could you want? Very good value for money. Highly recommended.

“Just the ticket!”

Lovely relaxing break in fabulous little seaside resort of Filey. Felt like a home from home, with all the mod cons needed for a comfortable stay. Well kitted out kitchen with a great view from the dining table.High spec finish to the kitchen units and the bathroom's sanitary ware. Stunning fireplace in the lounge and a cute little balcony also. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, and our first choice for a stay in Filey in the future.
