Description

Our house in the La Taha valley is situated on the edge of Ferrirolla village, with undisturbed views across the beautiful valley. La Taha is a cluster of small, quaint, unspoilt white washed villages, consisting of houses built by the Moors over 500 years ago. Granada is approx. 90 minutes away and the lovely beaches between Motril and Nerja are only an hour away by car. The tourist villages of Bubion and Capeleira are just 10 minutes drive away. This makes for a perfect location for anyone who wants to hike, bike, and beach in the same trip.

The house is renovated in true Las Alpujarra style, with a traditional tiled kitchen and bathroom, 2 bedrooms, lounge room with pot bellied stove, and Juliette balcony where you can sit and take in the amazing views and sounds of the valley i.e. distant goats bells. All sheets and towels are provided.

There are walking tracks through the mountains, which are suitable for the novice rambler, but also someone who likes a more serious

All sheets and towels are provided.

There are walking tracks through the mountains, which are suitable for the novice rambler, but also someone who likes a more serious adventure. The villages of Fondales, Mecina, Mecinilla and Busquitar can be reached along the tracks within 30 or so minutes, where you can pick wild figs and mountain herbs to compliment your home cooked meals.

If you don't feel like cooking for yourselves, there is a small cafe on the street, which serves delicacies such as home made cakes and tea/coffee, as well as refreshing beers, local wines and tapas. A short 15 minute walk to the next village is the charming bar/restaurant La muna la moora, or as we like to call it, the piano bar. They are famous for their music and home made pizzas as well as the more traditional Spanish mountain food; you may even be lucky enough to experinec some impromtu and authentic Flamenco, which happens from time to time!

Parking is available at the entrance to the village...
Pitres village is a 10 minute drive up the road to the supermarket and pharmacy, where you can stock up on all the essentials such as local cheeses and wine, vegetables and meats. The street is Calle Soledad and the house is located at the far end of the street (please see the map).

If you fancy a cool dip in a pool without driving an hour to the beaches, there is a boutique hotel just across from the piano bar, where you can spend the day by the pool, if you buy something to eat.
