“The best in 20 years”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2012

Cruising the british isles for now about 20 years Riverside are the best maintained Cottages we have visited over the years. Very tasteful, very clean, very nice and very helpful hosts. Nestles perfectly for walks, watching the scenary and wildlife and Inverness not to far from Farr

“Beautiful scenery”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2012

My husband and I stayed at Riverside Cottage the second week of June 2012. We had a lovely time although the weather wasn't too good. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery with the birds and the deer. The cottage itself was clean and well equiped. The only downside was that we couldn't use our mobile phone, or internet.

“total chill out”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2012

My wife and i have stayed here twice now and its the most peaceful place in scotland. Ron gives you a warm welcome and a good run through of how everything works he is also available at all times should you need any assistance. riverside is spotlessly clean throughout and is equipped with absolutely everything. Take a walk up to loch farr you will not regret it. The views are stunning and the walks are lovely, there are red squirrels as well as the huge variety of bird life. a super holiday is guaranteed here. Also the journey up and back down was wonderful the views across the cairngorms a sheer delight.

“Perfect Location and Great Value”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2012

While travelling with two teenagers and my mother,we stayed at the Riverside for one week in mid August. Perfect location a short drive off the main highway to Inverness allowed for day trips to Fort Augustus, Culloden, Cawdor etc. The price was right, the owners helpful (live on site), and accomodations very clean and more than adequate for a group of 5. Lots of local wildlife. The hot water wasn't always as hot as it could have been. Note: Must have use of a vehicle to utilize this self catering property

“Touch of Paradise”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2012

We have been holidaying at Riverside for many years and are already booked up for next year. Ron & Jayne are the perfect hosts and are there if you need anything. The peace and quiet is so good that it is a shame that it is constantly interrupted by a myriad of wildlife! The cottage is always immaculately presented, homely and welcoming. You are only a short drive from Inverness where the whole of the north of Scotland is there for you. What more could you ask for.

“Well pleased, very surprised!!!!”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2012

Myself, wife, daughter and our family dog decided to visit Scotland in april this year. We were pleased that Ron & Jane accepted pets at the property as this is not always the case when looking for accomodation. After a long trip from bristol, we were pleasantly surprised to find the location was exactly as described in the online advert we had viewed. The cottages are well equipped and very clean, with all the mod cons that you need. the rooms are comfortable, we slept extremely well!!! the cottage was not cold even for that time of year!! There is lots to see in the local area around the cottages, and plenty of walks to go on. Lots of wildlife that do come close to the property. We were made to feel welcome right from the start, and there was no problem arriving a little early!! Inverness and Loch Ness are only a short drive away, there are lots of tourist attractions and sightseeing spots in the area as well, so you wont get bored with what is on hand!! We had a lovely peaceful holiday, enjoying the full beauty of the area and the wildlife. Local people were extremely friendly and should you have a problem Ron & Jane are on hand if needed. We had an excellent time.

“A perfect place to stay for a relaxing holiday in a stunning situation.”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2012

We have stayed at Riverside Cottages year after year for the last nine years, sometimes two and three times in a year. The cottages are really well appointed, always spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The views from the cottages are absolutely stunning down the glen and we always enjoy the wonderful riverside walk through the land that belongs to the cottages alongside the riiver. The pathway winds along past the pond and eventually arrives at a little island in the river with a beautiful waterfall. It is the most magical place to spend time. My husband and I are birdwatchers and the birds and wildlife straight out of the cottage doors are phenomenal. For those who enjoy walking and want to leave the car behind for the duration of their holiday, this is also the place to be. The scenery is like nowhere else on earth and this is why we've returned year after year. Close by is the wonderful Loch Farr, where I could sit for eternity. And what better end to the day than to sit outside the cottages on the lovely table shelters and share a glass of wine whilst looking up at the amazing starry sky! And the tawny owls may serenade you whilst you sit! Truly, we would not stay anywhere else when visiting this area of the Highlands. It is a wonderful place to stay and which is central to many places of interest. Ron and Jayne have always been wonderful hosts, and we always feel like we are returning to visit old friends. All we feel we need to do when we arrive is enjoy our holiday! A very, very highly recommended place to stay!

“Clean, Friendly and helpful”

The apartment is well furnished, clean and well maintained. The owners are very friendly and helpful. For us it was a great holiday and we are happy to recommend. Have fun in Scotland

“Very comfortable, clean and well cared for cottage in a fantastic rural location yet only a short drive from lnverness”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2012

My family and I stayed at Riverside cottage the first two weeks of August and from the first moment were impressed. The location couldn’t be better with open views across the countryside on one side and the forest on the other and should you tire of being surrounded by the magnificent Scottish Highlands then the city of Inverness and all it is has to offer is only a fifteen minute drive away. Simply yet comfortably and tastefully furnished the owners Ron and Jane have dedicated a huge amount of time and effort into creating this little piece of tranquillity next to the river. We can assure future visitors that they will not be disappointed should they book a stay at Riverside cottage.
