Your self-catering Limousin Holiday Home has been entirely renovated and furnished to a high standard. The beautiful accommodation is tasteful and bright, with many original features and stunning oak flooring.
The Kitchen
The well-equipped kitchen is designed for large self-catering groups and families who enjoy 'eating in'. The centrepiece of this room is the very large kitchen table which can seat up to 14 people – should you need a little more space, there is an extra folding table. There are also 2 high chairs – see 'Extra facilities' at the bottom of the page to see more family-friendly items that we provide.
You will find a big gas oven and also all of the other features that you would expect to find in a modern kitchen – dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, coffee maker, toaster, together with cupboards full of crockery and cooking utensils.
Put your feet up in the cosy lounge
The lounge adjoins the kitchen, making one large, family-friendly, open plan space. You will find lots of comfy seating, a television with UK satellite free view channels, wifi internet connection, ipod docking station and a DVD player, complete with a library of films for children and adults. Although there is central heating (in every room) there is also a wood burning stove for extra comfort on chilly evenings. Disabled guests have wheelchair access into the garden via the French windows and access ramp.
Choose from 6 bedrooms, 5 with ensuite bathrooms
There are 6 bedrooms, tastefully furnished with original wood flooring, two of which are on the ground floor. The holiday accommodation provides 13 single beds (5 rooms have 2 beds and the largest family room has 3). This makes planning sleeping arrangements really flexible for mixed groups of friends and families, as we can move the beds around or together, to suit your needs. We also have 3 baby cots and 2 extra, folding beds at your disposal.
The Bathrooms
5 of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and each is equipped with a WC, sink and bath or shower. We frequently receive comments from our large groups and families about how grateful they were that they didn't have to queue for the shower!
Wheelchair Accessible / Friendly Holiday Accommodation
Whilst renovating the house, we realised that it was very important that guests who use wheelchairs should be able to access as much of the ground floor as possible. We regret that due to problems with the flooring, we could not install a level-access shower (a job to tackle for the future!). If you would like further information on its suitability and accessibility or local places to visit with wheelchair access, please do get in touch – it is important to use that you enjoy your holiday in our cottage.
Here are some of the features of the accommodation that we have been able to create for our disabled guests.
•One of the bedrooms on the ground floor has been simply designed with wheelchair accessibility in mind. The door has been widened, there is a low hanging rail and baskets for clothes (instead of drawers) and the mirror has been lowered.
•The doorway to the adjoining private bathroom has also been widened. There is a full turning space and the shower (though not level) has a safety bar and a wide base for a large and sturdy chair (not shown in the picture). The height of the sink and the WC conforms to disabled standards and there is also a support bar buy the WC.
•Because the original back door could only be accessed from the narrow corridor, we installed French windows and access ramp for entrance onto the terrace.
Extra, Family-Friendly Facilities
It is important to us that we are a family and baby friendly, self-catering holiday home and we provide many items to make holidaying with young children easier, for example, 3 baby cots, 3 high chairs, cutlery, toys, books, changing mat and table, baby bath…. If there is something missing from the list, please tell us what it is and if we can use it for future groups, we will have it ready for you at no extra cost!
We also offer a pre-visit shopping service – just email us a shopping list a week before your arrival!
The Garden
Large dining terrace and garden, backing out onto glorious countryside…
Imagine yourself on a warm summer's evening, relaxing on the terrace with a glass of wine and gazing at the beautiful Limousin countryside… Or waking up with the early morning sunshine and doing a spot of bird-watching from the large, private garden…
The attractive, paved terrace has a large table, perfect for alfresco dining. We also provide a very large barbeque to cater for our groups.
The terrace also provides an ideal spot for parents to relax, whilst also keeping an eye on the children playing in the garden.
