The nearby town of Mortgua has all necessary amenities - health centre, dentists,opticians,veterinary,post office,lawyers. A tourist office is located in the town hall while numerous cafes/restaurants and supermarkets provide daily provisions. Sports facilities include an indoor and oudoor swimming pool,tennis courts and gymnasium. Open air markets are held twice monthy and are a must visit, if not to buy goods then lunch is paramount with BBQ chicken,fries,salad,bread and wine costing as little as 6 Euros.
The historic university city of Coimbra is a 40 minute drive and thrives on its bustling students life and hosts many musical,theatrical and art events throughout the year.Tours of the city and cruises on the river are very popular.
