The owners Tony & Suzy Welcome you to The Millers House a traditional three-storey miller's home dating from the 15th Century. It adjoins the watermill dating from the 11th Century, situated on the beautiful River Argenton. The tranquil setting offers a relaxing family holiday with opportunities to explore many places of interest including the Loire Valley and its chateaux, the Vendee coast and Green Venice are all within easy reach, there are many family venues to visit and an abundence of good restaurants shops and markets nearby. Or just stay & enjoy the peaceful countryside right outside the door, with many walks and cycle paths starting at the front door. Also fishing on our own stretch of the beautiful River Argenton, and islands.

The Millers House has traditional features such as oak staircases, beams, shutters and casement windows and a log burning stove and sleeps up to 6 in 2 or 3* bedrooms *see note below

The ground floor overlooks The Courtyard & consists of a large living room with comfortable seating for 6 around a stone fireplace housing a wood-burning stove. A 32"SMART Satelite TV with English channels & DVD Free WiFi access Antique dressers provide ample cupboard-space and there is an oak table seating 6. The new fitted kitchen has lots of cupboard space and is well equiped for cooking it has a gas/electric cooker fridge/freezer dishwasher washer/dryer microwave kettle toaster & coffee maker. There is a seperate WC on the ground floor

On the first floor is the beautiful dual aspect lavender bedroom freshly decorated and with new linens it has a comfortable double bed pine furniture chair & Hairdryer. A landing with table and chair handy for computer adicts A new luxury fitted shower room with two wash-hand basins cupboards large lighted mirror shower & WC also an electric heated towel rail.

The second floor contains a large attic family bedroom with plenty of hanging & shelf space for clothes, a comfortable double bed & two single beds also a wash-hand basin with cupboard and a privacy screen and a nice view of the fields & river.

There are independantly operated electric radiators throughout the house and the woodburner stove in the living room.

The Veranda room which is a third bedroom / sitting room is available if desired at an additional cost. French windows open on to a large balcony overlooking the river & islands also a window overlooking the willow garden This room has a wood-burner stove, king size bed and comfortable seating for 2

#Please Note# As we are rural a car is essential for guests as there are no local public services the nearest is in Bressuire which is 17 kilometres away

We the owners (Tony & Suzy) live on site year round so are always available for advice and assistance. We have provided in your gite an information folder with lots of useful information and a drawer full of leaflets and ideas for days out, as well as some local information magazines. But please do not hesitate to ask us if your not sure where to go or what to do.

Why can't I call Mrs Susan (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Mrs Susan (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mrs Susan (the owner) a message.

If Mrs Susan (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
