Description

Phenests is a pretty town house, close to Swanpool Beach and Falmouth Golf Course. It's a perfect location if you want to be close to amenities, but not right in the midst of the action. It's decorated throughout in pastel shades, making the property really feel like home.

There's parking for up to three cars on the drive. Once inside, the lounge has a wood-laminate floor and warm peach coloured walls. There's one comfy sofa and a matching armchair, plus an upright leather chair in forest green. Move through to the kitchen diner and you'll find the well-equipped kitchen, kitted out with contemporary units in a light wood, and glossy marble-effect work tops. Just a few steps to the large pine dining table and chairs, and French doors into the garden.

Upstairs you'll find the master bedroom with a king-size bed, and dressed with a soft comforter that will add extra warmth on chilly night, or act as a blanket for snuggling in front of the TV. You've got two reading lights so you don't even need to get out of bed to turn off the lights before settling down to sleep. The room is painted in cream which is a perfect backdrop for the illustrations on the walls, and there's a large window so the whole room feels light and airy. You'll find plenty of storage in the warm, pine wardrobe and bedroom units. The second bedroom is a twin room, and the third has a three-quarter size bed with useful storage underneath. The family bathroom is upstairs and is fully tiled in ecru with a contemporary beige and charcoal mosaic motif. The accessories are all in modern chrome.

Phenest's strongest feature is arguably the garden - it's well-established with a range of flowering plants and bushes and offers privacy from the neighbours. Open the French doors and you'll find yourself on the decking. There's a large patio table here with chairs - it's the perfect spot for family breakfasts of hot coffee and warm, buttery croissants, or lazy suppers with a bottle or two of Merlot. Step down to the tiled area with your book, kick off your flip flops and stretch out on the sun lounger. If the heat is too much in this lovely little sun trap, pull the awning across and chill for a bit. Or step through the arch to the lawn and the rotary airer for drying off your swim wear and beach towels.

Phenests has a three-star rating by Quality in Tourism. There's a returnable £100 deposit against damages on this property, and dogs are welcome, but please note they are not allowed on furniture.

Location description from manager

The England region

Cornwall, the home of Poldark, Jamaica Inn and the Pirates of Penzance. It's the land of pasties, sand and sunshine. Beautiful beaches, coastal walks, and award-winning gardens that thrive in our exceptionally warm micro-climate. Check out Trebah for spectacular Camellias, Rhododendrons and Magnolias. Visit Enys Gardens for a carpet of bluebells, or Glendurgan for its amazing maze.

Picnic at the outdoor Minack Theatre, stroll through our beautiful capital city, Truro, with its beautiful 20th century cathedral. Giggle at the Newquay Zoo meercats. Or visit the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, St Michael's Mount, The Geevor Tin Mine... but, whatever you chose to do in Cornwall, you'll be sure to unwind from daily stresses and just simply relax.

Falmouth

Mosey though the town’s eclectic mix of art galleries, bistros and gift shops. Try a Ghost Walk at dusk! Snooze on Gyllingvase Beach in the sun. Get your feet wet from a wild array of watersports – sailing, snorkelling, coasteering, kayaking, or stand-up paddle boarding.

Look out for Falmouth Week in Events Square. Come and sing along with The Fisherman's Friends at the International Sea Shanty Festival. And if you're brave, try your hand at schucking down at the Oyster Festival in October.

Falmouth has so much going on, you could spend the week here, but it's also an ideal base for exploring this part of Cornwall: Truro, the Duchy's capital, is only thirty minutes away. Whatever you choose, be assured of a proper Cornish welcome.
