Location description from owner

The England region

The countryside of south west Cornwall is green and soft, interspersed with areas of moorland. The coastline is infinitely varied with rugged cliffs, sandy coves, fishing harbours and creeks which cry out to be explored. Once off the main roads, the winding country lanes all seem to lead to a new discovery, whether it be a delightful natural vista or a welcoming west-country pub.

The area abounds with places to visit to captivate the interests of all age groups. Sailing, surfing, fishing, riding, swimming, walking and golf are all within easy reach. Beaches, castles, boat trips, tin mines, art galleries, cliff walks and theme parks, there is something for everyone.

Falmouth

Falmouth is only 1.5 miles from Roseladen Farmhouse you have a huge range of wonderful restaurants to chose from. The famous Pandora Inn is just 5 miles away. The Cove at Maenporth is 4 minutes by car.

The Lizard peninsula, Helston with its Flora Day (in May), the seal sanctuary at Gweek, Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens, Falmouth, Pendennis Castle, Penzance, St Michael's Mount, St Ives (with the Tate Gallery) and countless other treats are within easy driving distance.

Roseladen is perched at the top of the Maen Valley, between Falmouth Harbour town and the Helford River, on the outskirts of Budock Water village.

The parish of St Budock is one of the oldest in Cornwall, mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1085 and is much older than neighbouring Falmouth and Penryn. The present church originated in the 13th century and was once the centre of a boundary which included what is now the town of Falmouth, Pendennis Castle and part of Penryn. In 1661 an act of Parliament separated Falmouth from Budock Parish. Today Budock has a population of about 1200 with an active community and good everyday facilities which include a pub, meadery restaurant, shop, numerous clubs, societies and a bus service.

Roseladen is located about half a mile from the village, 2 miles from Falmouth and just over a mile from Swanpool Beach and the coastal footpath. Helford River is about 5 miles and Truro 11 miles away.
