“Super holiday accommodation”

Had a great holiday staying at the forge with 2 kids and dog. Great to be able to bring dog here she enjoyed days out to the beach as did we. Kids enjoyed their beds going up high. Every thing we needed was supplied thanks sue and Chris

Thank you for your review we are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us at The Forge and look forward to see you again

“Don't be put off by the quirkiness!”

Looking for a late-notice family holiday in Norfolk we happened upon The Forge and booked it at once. On arrival we were met by the owner Sue who showed us around - including the unusual sleeping arrangements- and gave us some lovely welcome gifts. The Forge is well equipped and comfortable and in a beautiful, quiet setting. Being close to Fakenham is good for access to shops, restaurants and pubs, with the coast also close for days at the beach. The Forge was lovely and cosy at night and we could imagine it being lovely and snug during winter stays. All in all we enjoyed our stay greatly and plan to return. Thanks to Sue and Chris for wonderful hospitality.

Thank you for your review. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us at The Forge and look forward to welcome you back in the future Best regards Sue & Chris

“Great stay at The Forge”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2014

My husband, dog & I had a lovely few days here, the welcome from Sue and Chris was wonderful, thanks again for the biscuits for us and the doggie treats for Dougal! With a roaring wood burner and cosy range cooker the Forge is a cute little escape from it all, the cottage was warm and welcoming. Perfectly positioned for exploring, the only slight downside was no village pub (not your fault Sue and Chris!) but if you walk about 10 mins round the corner you will come across the Green Man which is like being in someone's front room (slightly weird) and it does fantastic food! If you are looking for a warm welcome and a quirky character place to stay then you should stay here! PS the mechanical stairs are fun!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at The Quirky Forge we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to see you again

“A really lovely property in a beautiful location that I thoroughly recommend”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2013

we had a lovely weekend. The property was perfect, lots of areas to visit if you can tear yourself away for this Old Forge. The pets came to and were at home staight away, they enjoyed the walks as we did. It's great for exporing Norfolk and the lovely city of Norwich. The owners certainly looked after us and were kind and friendly. The property was delightful, it was spotlessly clean had everything you needed to make the stay fantastic. The weather was wet and windy but the thought of being able to go out and return to this lovely warm and welcomming little home was great. I have booked another break and can see this becomming a much looked forward to regular place to be. I thoroughly recommend this wonderfull place.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments so glad you enjoyed your stay at our "Quirky Forge". Look forward to you next visit.

“warm, well equipped, quirky accomodation”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2013

We had a good week staying as the first guests at the Forge. Chris and Sue were welcoming and helpful. The forge is warm, comfortable, well equipped and an interesting, unusual place to stay. We travelled with our 5 year old son who absolutely loved having to winch the ladder up and down in order to get upstairs. We are all fine with ladders, so had no problems getting to and from the bedroom, but this accommodation wouldn't work for anyone with mobility problems or who does not like heights. It probably wouldn't work for younger children. It would be a good place for a couple or a small group (3-4) of friends to stay as the sleeping accom is quite flexible. We loved the bedroom which is like a wood-panelled tent, up in the eaves of the barn.Chris has put extra panelling around the mezzanine area, which made this a lot safer. The forge was equipped with everything we needed. It's a short drive (or would make a great base for cyclists) to a good range of attractions or to the marvellous north coast beaches. We definitely hope to return.

Thank you for your review we are so pleased that you chose the Forge for your holiday and look forward to welcome you again in the future should you chose to return

“Idylic country escape in rustic old forge”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2013

Set in a small Norfolk village close to the coast and very many places of interest. A peaceful setting in accommodation that is quite unique being an old forge which is oozing with original charm, it has a very cosy welcoming feel to it. Fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self-catering holiday, we felt so relaxed after our stay and will definitely revisit. The owners made us very welcome and were of help as to where we should visit as this was our first holiday in North Norfolk.

Thank you for choosing The Forge for your holiday. We are so pleased that you liked it and look forward to seeing you again
