Very Good

“Fabulous authentic French Mas in really lovely Provencal village.”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2015

The property lived up to expectations and beyond. Very comfortable and the pool was a blessing in the unusual heat that the ares was experiencing at the time. Pascale was most helpful and very friendly and maintained the pool regularly. The house has spacious accommodation and is very well equipped.. Secure off road parking and very private. The village is a well kept typical Provencal village with a good range of shops and cafes and 3 boulangeries including a fabulous patisserie. There are great restaurants and an exceptional gourmet restaurant in the village. Close to major towns and transport and only 20 minutes from the TGV at Avignon. Both Avignon and Aix festivals were on while we were there. You could be a restful or as active as you wished and would have a fantastic holiday.

“Mas Barthelemy - the perfect vacation rental in a great location”

Reviewed 7 May 2014

If you are looking to rent a vacation house for up to six people ideally located in Provence, France, this is the rental that I recommend. With no recommendations other than what I could find on Trip Advisor and other sites, I took the chance that this would suit our needs for a family vacation long in the planning. Mas Barthelemy, and the owner Pascale Saigne were the perfect combination. The house was located in Eyragues, a small town that was easy driving proximity to the towns of the Luberon and Les Alpilles. All the rooms in the house are large, including the master bedroom with its own bathroom. The kitchen was well-equipped and perfectly suitable for our needs, as we frequently bought the days food stock at whatever town was having its nearby market day and cooked in. The baked goods for the day were bought at a boulangerie in Eyragues and which I consider to be the best purveyor of croissants and baguettes that I have had in my multiple trips to France, while living in Germany and since. To be concise, the house is clean, comfortable and roomy with WiFi that works well, a good TV and a pool in the yard that, unfortunately, wasn't yet open for our April stay. Ms Saigne met us upon our arrival, and with her daughter, gave a tour of the property and was ready if needed to come over...which happened only once when the WiFi went out. She was there to re-set it almost immediately after being notified. All six of us who stayed there loved the property and would feel completely comfortable recommending it to our family and friends and would consider mas Barthelemy a top choice if or when we return to the region.

“A Picture-Perfect Home in Provence”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2013

Mas Barthelemy was an absolutely beautiful home. We enjoyed this spacious, comfortable (there were 6 of us) house and swimming pool. The kitchen was well-equiped and eating outside was wonderful. The small town of Eyragues was a short walk away and had groceries and a few boulangeries which met our needs! It was a perfect home base for exploring Provence. The owner, Pascale, was delightful! We would love to return some day!! Stay here--you won't regret it!!

“A lovely, welcoming home in Provence.”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2013

A renovated traditional Mas, approximately 400 metres from the centre of Eyragues. Comfortably sleeping 6 in three large bedrooms. A great base to explore Provence and just relax. Pascale welcomed us and introduced us to the house, it is well equipped, with large good quality beds, super king in the master bedroom, king size in the others. It is comfortable, pleasantly decorated, with a variety of internal spaces. The garden and pool are on two levels, a good mix of sun and shade, and the pool was a pleasant 26 when we visited. We felt the property and area was better than expected and the pictures on the web underplayed its charm. Eyragues is a friendly small town, a good variety of cafe's to enjoy and people watch. 5 restaurants, 3 patisseries and 2 supermarkets. All were friendly and welcoming. St Remy is 6 kilometres away with a much larger variety of shops and a big supermarche.

“Lovely, comfortable home in great location”

Reviewed 4 Oct 2011

We stayed at Mas Barthelemy for 6 nights in September and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had originally intended to stay in St Remy but due to lack of availability chose Eyragues which was 6kms away. While St Remy was lovely, I was much happier we stayed in Eyragues since it was a much quieter village and far more relaxed than St Remy. The house was exactly as it was described and portrayed on the website and we were warmlyt welcomed by the owner on our arrival. The house is very comfortable and very well equipped and very tastefully decorated, it really did feel like a home rather than a holiday rental which was great and added to our experience. The house is only 5 minutes walk to the village of Eyragues which was very convenient as it made buying food and eating out so easy as we could always walk. The village itself has two Petit Casinos (little supermarkets), three or four restaurants (Le Pre Gourmand was sensational!), 2 or 3 boulangeries (bakeries) and one or two butchers. The market is held in the town square on Fridays until 1pm which is a good opportunity to buy very well priced fruit and vegetables (although the Petit Casino was very good value) and an opportunity to buy fresh fish. Eyragues is a great base to do day trips from and you really do need a car, there are buses but with a car you will have so much more freedom. I would stay in this house again which was well located, comfortable and charming.
