Description

Cappa House is a recently renovated farmhouse with stunning sea and mountain views 1.2 miles from the village of Eyeries on the Beara Peninsula in West Cork, Ireland. The property has 3 en-suite bedrooms including master bedroom with sun-room. There is a large modern well equipped kitchen/dining room with oak units and a utility room for laundry, storage etc. The open plan living area has a large stone fireplace with a wood burning stove for those chilly evenings. Leading off this area is the front sun room with breathtaking views over Coulagh Bay where you can sit in the evening and enjoy the dramatic sunsets. Also on the ground level is a large family bathroom. The master bedroom is also located on the ground floor and along with an en-suite shower this area also has its own sun-room with views over to the village of Eyeries and can accommodate extra guests with a pull out sofa bed. Bedrooms 2 and 3 on the first floor are also both double rooms with en-suite shower rooms and are flooded with light as both have 2 windows each and 10 ft high ceilings.

Getting around

You really need a car to get around the Beara peninsula but if you are happy to stay close to Eyeries you can walk to the shops etc. Harringtons bus can bring you from Cork and drop you at the door of Cappa House if you dont want to bring a car. Enquire for more details.

Interaction with guest

We live in Cappa House B&B which is located close by and are available at all times if required. On arrival I will go through everything about the house from heating to recycling, hot water, how to light the stove, wifi etc I provide maps/leaflets of all the local attractions and can advise you on what to do locally.

“Amazing house in an amazing location.”

Such a warm, inviting holiday home in the beautiful Eyeries. Had an amazing stay, loved every minute of it and already booked to come back in August. Fran couldnt do enough for us and even the sun shone! Also the Bistro in the village was AMAZING!! Cant wait to come back!

“Simply the best!”

We spent three weeks at Cappa House and we loved it from the very first moment! Incredible how spacious Cappa House is! It's located in a beautiful part of Beara where there is a lot to see and do. The view from the sun room over Coulagh Bay is overwhelming and the sunsets were breathtaking! The owner was always reliable and helpful with a lot of tips about what to do and where to go. Naggers wouldn't be happy in this house, as there is nothing to nag about. Anything you might need - it's there! We couldn't have found a better place to stay on Beara. Just perfect! We can't wait to come back.

“Superb accommodation with stunning views”

Situated on the road to Allihies, with amazing views over mountains and sea, Cappa House is a short walk from the village of Eyeries, on the undiscovered Beara Peninsula and very conveniently located for our stay in SW Ireland. The house is a beautifully restored 2-story with 4 large bedrooms on 2 levels and bathrooms on each level. The kitchen is a large country style with every amenity thought of. The lounge room has a cosy wood fireplace and the front sitting room overlooks both the ever changing Coulagh Bay and over to the village of Eyeries. Hot water and heating is easily controlled from a panel and it is simple to boost whenever required. Washer, dryer and dishwasher are provided and wi-fi is available. Groceries and meals are easily obtained from Castletown Bear just a few kilometres away. Here we also picked up SIM cards for our iPads. We chose one of the upstairs bedrooms, as there was only 2 of us and it was supplied with a comfy queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with shower. Every day I was able to watch the twinkling lights in Eyeries village and the sunrise over the hills. We are both keen photographers and found this region absolutely stunning with it's ever changing light. Fran and family couldn't be more friendly and accommodating and even had bread and milk in the fridge for us after our drive down from Dublin! Fran also checked in on us during the week to ensure we were comfortable and provided plenty of suggestions on things to see and do in the region. I can't speak highly enough of our time at Cappa House and the ruggedly beautiful Beara Peninsula and would recommend it to all types of travellers. If the opportunity arose in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to return and bring the family.
