The Scottish Borders region

Eyemouth is a small Fishing Port situated in the South East Border area of Scotland and only 5 miles North of the English Border.

It is famous for its Fish restaurants. An area of small Wynd's used to house underground tunnels under the houses that indicates its smuggling past, the story being told in the Local Museums at The Kirk, Harbour and Gunsgreen House. Eyemouth boasts a links Golf Course and plenty of Diving for those who prefer exploring underwater. Walkways lead up and down the coast to Cocksburnpath, Pease Bay and St Abbs to the North or Burnmouth and the English Border town of Berwick upon Tweed to the South. It also has a nice sandy beach to relax on at the Bantry.

The Area is steeped in History from the past indicating Viking Raids of Lindisfarne, at Holy Island only accessible at Low tide via a causeway, or the Border Castles that tell the story of the battles between both Scotland and England before its unification under King James and the Riever families, that he tricked in winning the peace.

This was our first visit to Eyemouth so we went for accommodation in the centre of Eyemouth we were lucky to find Market View first time. Liz and Chris were friendly and made us very welcome. The accommodation was excellent for us although the internal stairs may be a problem for some less able people. Along with the accommodation and the excellent food at the Golf Club we had a very relaxing holiday. Eyemouth is a superb place for relaxation. We did have difficulty with Wi-Fi but all the eating places seemed to have it. We will be back.

"Great Flat!"

Flat was very comfortable and well equipped. Welcome pack was much appreciated. Central location and within easy reach of Bewrick. Lovely welcome from Liz and Chris would highly recommend! Hope to return for a future break.

Thank you your comments are greatly appreciated and I look forward to welcoming you both back in the future. Liz and Chris

"Excellent flat and a great holiday"

Market View is a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay: we felt at home straight away. It is surprisingly spacious and very well appointed, Liz and Chris seem to have thought of everything. There's plenty of storage space and the decor is very thoughtful and attractive. It is, of course, spotlessly clean and well maintained.Being in the town centre it is very handy for the shops (which open very early (from 6 o'clock) in Eyemouth, the bustling and interesting harbour, the beach and the attractions. Amazingly for a town of only 3000, Eyemouth has 3 museums, all of them a must to visit. Market View is ideal as a base for North Northumberland as well as the Scottish Borders. Eyemouth is on the Berwickshire coastal route with amazing sea views and some of the best seabird colonies in Britain,St. Abbs Head is a spectacular walk with thousands of seabirds. Great walking country all around as well as the many stately homes of the Borders. It's a great part of the world and Market View is a great place to stay. Many thanks to Liz and Chris, we're looking forward to our next visit! .

Thank you both for your very kind review. I would love to have you both back and look forward to meeting you again in the future. Best regards Liz

"Fabulous cosy one bed apartment with everything you require close by which includes beach and shoreline."

Lovely 3 day break away. Perfect apartment, amenities and great location. Lots to do within the local area, fabulous walks and cycle paths close by.

Thank you for your very kind remarks. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you both and have you stay. I do appreciate your reviews as it helps me to keep the property to a standard that is appealing. I hope to welcome you both again in the near future, and look forward to it. Liz
