“Perfect break from the city”

Reviewed 9 Apr 2016

The hut was booked for us as a wedding gift, and we ended up using it almost a year after our wedding. It was a perfect place for a break from the hectic London life. Booking was super easy as we just emailed Rachel that we had a voucher, she sorted it out from there. We ended up arriving very late, yet she was very accommodating despite the disruption. The hut is just the right size for 2 people, with a beautiful view of the hills and the village. We lit a fire and were rapidly toasty warm despite the cold outside. Breakfast was left for us on the table outside well wrapped against the rain, and we had a lovely breakfast in bed. Despite us coming in March, the weather was perfect for a spring walk once we wrapped up. We made the most of the games in the hut and the helpful leaflets left out for us for walks and excursions locally. All in all, it did just the trick for a 2 night break just to ourselves. Excellent bathroom facilities and a big fridge we could stash our nibbles in rather than in the hut.

“Absolutely fantastic”

The hut is not only extremely well equipped but very tastefully decorated, cosy and comfortable. Excellent facilities and fantastic host. Thank you.

“A Beautiful Little Retreat in the Peak District.”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2016

Having recently stayed for three nights, I couldn't have been more impressed. The hut is well located. tucked away in Eyam, a lovely little village (with a fab tea room), situated a short drive from Bakewell. The owner of the property, Rachel, was there to meet us on arrival and was very welcoming. The hut itself contained everything that you could need. Along with the log burner, it also had a radiator and power sockets. There is also a stone building that contains a shower, toilet, sink and kettle. The breakfasts were delivered in a hamper every morning and featured lovely bread, jam, marmalade, fruit, yoghurt and muesli - the perfect start to the day. Overall, I couldn't recommend the hut highly enough - it's in a lovely quiet location, close to good walks and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

“What a treat”

We stayed at 'the hut' in Feb 2016 and had a wonderful time. Its the perfect place to escape to. We couldn't fault anything, its beautifully designed, well made and very cosy. The breakfast was perfect and the views are stunning. We will definitely return but next time for more that one night. Thanks again.

“Great Getaway from it all - secret hideaway”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2016

Stayed 2 nights between Christmas and New Year, had great time, was a real get away from everyone and everything, excellent us time! Weather was awful so on one day we had pub lunch followed by lazy afternoon with bottle of wine and log burner - very cosy secret hideaway, didn't want to come home to real world! Will be back in later in year when weather hopefully better

“Superb customer service and beautiful setting”

Reviewed 22 Dec 2015

A perfect mini holiday and the host Rachel and her family could not have made us feel more at home. They even gave us a lift to a restaurant in the evening and breakfast was brilliant. Really friendly and welcoming and a wonderful little get away for two people to really enjoy.

“The Perfect Retreat”

Reviewed 4 Dec 2015

What a wonderful hut and location. Perfect for a relaxing break just reading, listening to the radio or taking in the idyllic countryside yet still close enough to larger towns such as Bakewell. The hut was cosy, well equipped and very welcoming. We’d definitely visit again.

“Really lovely accommodation in a beautiful area!”

Reviewed 18 Nov 2015

We spent a fantastic weekend here, thank you so much to Rachel for all her efforts in making our stay perfect. A lovely breakfast hamper was prepared for us each morning as well as a home-made birthday cake for Rob when we arrived (delicious by the way!). The little stove really made the place cosy on the windy November nights (although be careful not to over fuel it like we did and roast!) and all the other finishing touches in the hut are what make it truly special. Not to mention the view when you get up in the morning (helped by some unexpected sunny weather) and the beautiful village of Eyam itself. Would definitely recommend.

“Went for a mid week retreat.”

Reviewed 11 Nov 2015

Beautiful little hut and in a great location of the Peak District. Rachel the owner was very attentive to all the small little details that make your stay something special but gives you enough space to feel like its just the two of you. The bed was extremely comfortable and having a wood burner in the hut is great fun! The only part that took me by surprise was how close the hut was to the main house but don't let this deter you, it also means you have the bonus of not having to go too far for a hot shower!

“Great Christmas present.”

We had a brilliant time. The Hut was delightful and cosy with great attention to detail to make our stay very special. The breakfast hamper set us up well for the day. We enjoyed country walks, evening pub meals and exploring Chatsworth House and Gardens. Rachel was very welcoming and attentive and gave us great local advice. Many thanks
