The Devon region
Exmouth is a vibrant town on Devon's beautiful Jurassic Coastline. The sea front is bordered by pretty gardens with sub tropical plants and a cycle path which extends up the banks of the River Exe to the villages of Lympstone and Exton. There are two miles of wonderful sandy beaches, and the coast path offers spectacular views. The town and wider area is well served with cafes, restaurants and pubs. The historic cathedral city of Exeter is a short distance away - the best way to reach it being the small train which travels regaularly alongside the River Exe and allows stunning views over the estuary which is a haven for wildlife.
Exmouth town centre has recently undergone re-design and there are lovely parks and gardens - plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by! The town is bustling during the day, and in the evening there are a number of good restaurants, family pubs and (for those seeking something more lively) some busy bars and a nightclub. The small cinema offers a variety of films in 3 screens. There is a leisure centre with pool and fitness suite. All these facilities are witin easy walking distance of Turnstone Cottage.
