Very Good

“Excellent Cosy Cottage”

Reviewed 16 Oct 2017

This is our 4th visit back to this wonderful cottage. We stayed a week in August fantastic weather and spent alot of time on the patio. We stayed on 6th October for a week for the rut. Lots of wildlife again to see and appreciate. Fantastic weather warmer than normal. White horse inn is excellent for food and a great variety. A good co-op in dulverton along with a butcher's and bakers in dulverton. Copper Kettle in Dulverton is lovely for breakfast but have heard the bridge tea rooms has been sold do cannot wait to hear what this will be like again. We went to allerford and bossington 2 lovely little villages but extremely narrow lanes. We had a much needed chilled and relaxed break. The cottage was lovely and warm as always and everything you need to enjoy your stay in this beautiful cottage. Thank you once again Carolynn & David. Looking forward to coming back again next year

Owner's reply: Delighted to hear you had an excellent time. The Bridge Tea Rooms in Exford have been bought by Bruce and Claire (from Norwich) who are planning to renovate over this winter and re-open next spring in time for Easter. Good news for Exford.

“Charming character cottage in idyllic village.”

We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing break at Chapel Cottage. Situated in a delightful village with a pretty green/park to the rear & a safe enclosed garden which was ideal for our dachshund 'Misty'. The cottage was extremely well equipped & it was nice to be greeted with a tasty home baked lemon cake. We enjoyed the nearby riverside walk & found the local store very handy for a few essentials. We enjoyed a weds night carvery at The White Horse Inn & especially liked the Bridge Cottage tea rooms in Winsford. The superking bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding. The drying room with shower & WC was great....wish we had one like that!! Central location for exploring Exmoor & the coast. Many thanks to David & Carolyn for being so helpful with our booking, we hope to return again soon.

Owner's reply: Deborah, Delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at Chapel Cottage. We look forward to your return. David & Carolynn

“On arrival we were delighted to find that everything was spotlessly clean and the whole cottage extremely well equipped,”

Excellent venue in the heart of beautiful Exmoor with easy access to all the beauty spots. Exford is a delightful little village with friendly shop owners including a well resourced convenience store and Post Office. There are two excellent hotels for formal dining out or evening drinks and a lovely tea room offering freshly cooked breakfasts, lunches and afternoon tea, for any who don't wish to self cater all the time. The price was really a bargain considering the very high quality of the accommodation; two good sized bedrooms, well equipped and roomy kitchen/ dining room, separate living room, all beautifully decorated and two bathrooms. Also all bed linen and towels provided and tea etc. and yummy home made cake on arrival. There is a comprehensive supply of information and maps re places to visit and local walks.

“Comfy, cosy, quality”

This is a home you stay in rather than a house you rent out. It has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable break away. Great location, village has a well stocked shop and 2 pubs. Very central for all that Exmoor has to offer.
