Close to the Devon-Somerset border, nestling in the centre of Exford, right in the heart of Exmoor National Park, CHAPEL COTTAGE offers high quality self-catering holiday accommodation.

The spacious cottage is a part-time family home, rural retreat and a great base for exploring the magic of Exmoor National Park and the North Devon coastline. The welcoming family cottage comfortably sleeps up to 4 adults, two children and two dogs. Stabling can be found very close by. The accommodation comprises two large bedrooms, both with very comfortable 'zip and link' Superking Double Beds and two separate bathrooms, one with bath and shower and the second with a shower cubicle. Six guests can dine in comfort in the open-plan dining area or on the large fully equipped patio overlooking the picturesque village green. The cosy sitting room has a wood-burning stove and comfortable settee and chairs.

The cottage has private off-road car parking for 2 cars and is located at the heart of Exford within easy walking distance of the two village pubs, both of which boast extensive menus, and the excellent village store. Exford is an ideal location for an active or peaceful holiday. From the doorstep of Chapel Cottage, you may enjoy superb walks, either with or without your dogs, to the moorland or beside the peaceful river. There are many varied and exciting activities available for children. Further afield, accessible by cycle or car, you may discover the Exmoor ponies, the Red Deer, for which Exmoor is famous, and only 20 minutes drive from Exford is the stunning North Devon and Somerset coastline.

Delighted to hear you had an excellent time. The Bridge Tea Rooms in Exford have been bought by Bruce and Claire (from Norwich) who are planning to renovate over this winter and re-open next spring in time for Easter. Good news for Exford.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Carolynn (the owner) a message.

If Carolynn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
