The Peak District is situated in Central England and it was the first National Park to be created in the British Isles. It lies mainly in north Derbyshire but also covers parts of Cheshire, Staffordshire, Greater Manchester and Western/Southern Yorkshire.

Your holiday on a Black Prince Narrowboat offers an opportunity to have a holiday home on the move! Cruise the waterways of England and enjoy waking up to a new view each morning. You'll explore England in a very unique way, discovering a holiday of exciting contrasts.

These premier narrowboats are perfectly set up for a self-catering holiday with a difference. Travel as much or as little as you like, choose an easy route or a more challenging route with locks. Our expert team at the marina base will be on hand to give you a full induction and plenty of advice. Easy to handle, we welcome novices as well as experienced narrowboat enthusiasts, full training will be given on arrival.

Your beautiful narrowboat will come fully equipped with kitchenette, bathroom with full-sized shower and WC, living area with TV / DVD, central heating and various bedroom options for double and single beds. Upgrades to larger narrowboats which sleep up to 10 people are available, and longer duration holidays are available to book. Plus - free WIFI in each boat!

Guests who enjoy this type of holiday are those that enjoy the outdoors and are relatively fit. The routes in the Peak District area tend to involve locks, and this means plenty of hopping on and off the boat, and opening and closing the lock gates. There is no great secret to how the locks work or how to operate the boat - full training will be given on arrival and lock keepers are used to giving a helping hand!

Your narrowboat holiday in the Peak District combines the beautifully picturesque with contrasting industrial areas steeped in history. Take time out to visit famous Roman spa's, some of the most impressive stately homes in England, or enjoy countryside walks around quaint villages. Mix this with the manufacturing centres of such famous companies such as Royal Doulton, Cheddleton Mill and Wedgwood and you have a holiday of enjoyable contrasts.

The variety of canal cruising routes is wide with the Cheshire Ring and Four Counties being favourites, but you also have routes that include the Four Counties Ring, the Caldon and Leek Canals, and a trip to Whaley Bridge.

Please note that we offer a minimum 3-night stay.
