The Andalucia region
The Costa del Sol extends along more than 150 kilometres of coastline in the province of Malaga. Its name, the “Coast of the Sun”, is not due to mere chance: with over 325 sunny days a year and beaches to suit all tastes. Each beach has its own charms. Some are livelier, others are quieter and more solitary; some are absolutely untouched and others have the most modern services. You will surely find your own personal paradise on the Costa del Sol. The Costa del Sol runs from the western coast of Cadiz to Nerja - on the border with the province of Granada – and is an area where tourism is highly developed. The waters are calm, warm and transparent, and the scenery is beautiful and varied, as many beaches are set between the mountains and the sea.
Visit the main city Malaga which is full of cultural richness. Visit it´s historic monuments, churches, palaces, squares & fountains, historic parks & gardens, museums, theatres, cinema´s and art galleries.
The whitewashed villages of Andalucia are impressive historical monuments in themselves, and their people still live according to age-old traditions, inherited from their Iberian, Roman and Moorish forefathers.
Many of the villages near the coast have become fashionable resorts, while still conserving their ancient charm, whereas others, lost in the highlands of Andalucia, remain rough and ready olive-farming towns, with a special appeal for the adventurous travellers. Malaga province is sprinkled liberally with pretty pueblos blancos, or white towns and villages, the most well-known of all these being Ronda. Inland from the Costa del Sol are mountain villages popular with foreign visitors to the Costa del Sol, such as Istán which nestles beneath the peaks of the Sierra Blanca, while Ojén is further east, on the A355, and beyond Ojén in a mountain valley is Monda and then Guaro. The attractive village of Benahavís north of San Pedro de Alcántara is well-known for its many excellent restaurants. West of Estepona is the surprisingly unspoilt village of Manilva - given its proximity to the Costa - and, further inland along a beautifully scenic road, Casares. This village is in a spectacular position with its houses clinging precariously to the sides of a rocky pinnacle, crowned by a Moorish fortress.
Costalita is a development on the Costa Del Sol, Spain, between San Pedro and Estepona. From Costalita, Malaga and Gibraltar airports are just 45 minutes away, Marbella Old town, 15 minutes and Puerto Banus is just 10 minutes away (all by road). Costalita is on the beach, and consists of apartments and townhouses in a traditional Spanish style, typical of the region and all with beautiful landscaped gardens. Costalita has 4 beach bars/ restaurants including the prestigious Villa Padierna beach club. The village of Cancelada with many restaurants, bars and a market on Wednesday mornings is within 10 minutes walk. There are often festivals and many other facilities are nearby, such as tennis, golf courses, water parks, theme parks, safari parks, etc.
The Villa Padierna Country & Racquet Club is located in a beautiful setting and close to the beach at Costalita. There are 6 paddle tennis courses and 2 tennis courses which are lit by night. During weekends there are often tournaments. After the match you can enjoy a high end gastronomy in the restaurant of the Country Club. From the open air barbecue the staff is often preparing some excellent steaks. There is furthermore a children´s playground. Prices are most reasonable and you can choose between payment by the hour or various membership solutions.
At Pepe´s Beach Club offer something for everybody in the summer with many visitors trying out the meals in Pepe´s Beach Restaurant. Also during the summer there has been Flamenco Nights every Friday night in Pepe´s Beach and all have been fully booked. Pepe´s Beach is open in the low season every weekend.
Heaven Beach is a beach bar in front of a wide beach just a few minutes from the centre of Estepona or a 20 min walk along the beach from Costalita. A perfect combination for any time of day or night You can dock your boat in front of the snack bar and decide whether to eat inside the restaurant, on one of the "beds" that are offered on the beach or if you prefer to serve them directly on the boat.
Children will enjoy the playground, and pets are also not a problem. In fact, in Heaven they have their own, but, yes, very well behaved : a goat, a mastiff and even a Vietnamese pig called "Lomo" which is attracting young and old alike.
During the day, right on the beach, you can enjoy cocktails and their famous "espetos" (skewers) of sardines. From the menu you can enjoy a wide variety of food, from a tasty burger to an exotic salad, rice casserole with lobster, all kinds of "fried fish" or a good steak. Also, for the more adventurous, this natural site also offers the possibility of practicing Sky Surfing. With the charm of the night, belly dancers arrive, the candlelight and fun in the form of theme parties.
Cancelada Village is on the mountain side of the main A7 coastal road, only a few minutes drive between San Pedro and Estepona towns and can easily be reached by footbridge from Villacana, Park Beach and Albayalde beachside resorts now connected to COSTALITA without taking the main road. Although it has much changed over the years the village has managed to maintain its quaint Spanishness. There is a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants to entice you away for a pleasant change to the beachside choices.
