Woolacombe is sitauted in North Devon and is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, also known for having one of the cleanest, safest beaches in the area which is manned by lifeguards during the main summer season. Ideal for families and water sports enthusiasts. Also great for walkers as the coastline in this area is stunning.

The Tarka Trail (180 miles of walking and cycling routes through stunning countryside) offers the energetic a perfect opportunity to explore the highways and byways of North Devon. You can download a range of easy-to-follow cycle route to print out and enjoy.

Exmoor National Park also offers the walker a unique landscape to explore with added bonus horse trekking expeditions for those with equestrian interests.

For total peace and quiet and a truly memorable experience there is Lundy Island, a three mile long island, 12 miles off the North Devon coast. A paradise for wildlife watchers it also has a marine reserve which you can dive off.

Situated in North Devon, along England’s western coastline, lie some of Europe’s finest and cleanest beaches, ideal for both families with children and watersports enthusiasts. The village of Woolacombe can be found along this spectacular golden coastline of soft sandy beaches, flanked by the dramatic headlands of Baggy Point and Morte Point.

Almost three miles of golden sands stretch from Putsborough in the south to Woolacombe village itself offering plenty of space for everybody. Bathing is particularly safe in the shallow waters which are patrolled by lifeguards during the main summer season.

The small settlement of Mortehoe is a pretty stone built village mentioned in the Doomsday Book. The village features several tea rooms and pubs, a thirteenth century church and Mortehoe Heritage Centre which recounts the areas rich maritime history. Mortehoe is also the starting point for many scenic walks along this dramatic stretch of coastline. Just north of the village and reached only on foot, is Rockham Beach lying at the base of the 100 ft cliff, an ideal location for a peaceful day on the beach. "Super apartment"

The location of this apartment is ideal -wonderful views, a quiet position and the sound of the waves at night. The furnishings and equipment are of a very high standard and spotless. There is on- site car parking in a quiet road behind the property.but you don't need to use your car for local amenities as the centre of the village is within 10 minute's walk. The only drawback to staying here could be the steps down from the car park to the front door of the property and the two internal flights of stairs

Thanks for such a lovely review of this fab holiday home!

"An Amazing Flat with Spectacular Views!!!"

This flat has everything you’ll need for a pleasant and comfortable visit to the beach. One of the most important aspects of travel for us is getting sleep … and lots of it. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever experienced (including my own). The sound of the surf outside your window lulls you to sleep after a long day at the beach. The flat appears to be brand new with everything you’ll need and the location couldn't be more convenient ... steps away from the beach. The name Ocean View doesn't tell the entire story. On a clear day (luck us, we had 7 of them) it is a Sunset View from the comfort of your living room and bedroom. We would stop what we were doing every night just to watch that beautiful sun go down. The wonderful hosts Sheila and Tom spared none to make the place sparkle. Thank you so much Tom for giving us the history lesson on Woolacombe’s contribution during WWII. Our daughter thanks you for offering the beach toys. Our visit turned out to be one of our most memorable. Thank you Tom and Sheila, we hope to return to the Ocean View (I mean Sunset View :-) sometime soon. We promise to bring the good weather with us.

Ocean View Penthouse is a gem and we are so glad you found it for your holiday in Woolacombe, thank you :)

"Fantastic stay in this wonderful apartment"

We have just returned from a week at Ocean View Penthouse. It is a beautiful apartment in a fantastic position with the most magnificent and ever-changing view. The apartment is very high spec and brilliantly equipped with everything we needed for it to feel just like home for our week there. We stayed with our 2 year old son and enjoyed having a good quality cot with lots of bedding, a nice new high chair and plastic bowls and cups. The views really are spectacular, we all enjoyed sitting on the large window ledges watching the sun go down in the evening and being able to hop, skip and jump over to the beach whenever the mood took us. The 2 large shower rooms were a really high standard, and now our son is a lover of showers having previously been very scared. There are lots of steps to this apartment but it didn't cause us a problem, our son enjoyed counting his way up and down them each day. The parking space is very useful as the Esplanade gets very busy. There is a small supermarket in Woolacombe and a larger Tesco close to Ilfracombe but we had an internet shop delivered on our arrival day which made life much easier. All in all we had a great holiday and really enjoyed our stay, the family are extremely welcoming and hospitable.

Thank you for your lovely comments and taking the time to contribute to this helpful community. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in Woolacombe and that you found the beautiful Ocean View Penthouse, stunning? Yessssss
