“Absolutely fantastic!”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2013

Beautiful villa in a very quiet rural location but close enough to supermarkets etc. Fintan and Pauline couldn't have been more friendly and helpful right from day 1 when we first enquired about the property. The villa is very spacious and immaculately kept. Sitting out at night by the pool with a glass of wine and the BBQ lit listening to the crickets - it doesn't get better or more relaxing than at Villa Le. Thanks a million Fintan and Pauline, we hope to be back soon (maybe without teenagers!!)

“Absolutely amazing Villa”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2013

Thank you so much to Fintan and Pauline - When we arrived they were there to meet us with the best welcome pack ever, every thing you need for the first couple of days of your stay. The villa was a palace, everything was just perfect, so clean and bright and BIG. Fintan's suggestions and maps of the walks were so helpful and we enjoyed them very much even if we did work up quite a sweat going up the hills. The surrounding countryside is just amazing. The walk down to the river and the walk to Alte were well worth the effort. The pool is so clear and clean thanks to Fintan popping in to keep it so. The restaurants Fintan recommended were excellent value and superb food. Our holiday was certainly a great way to celebrate our 50th Birthdays. Thank you so much for the holiday of a lifetime. We would love to stay again at this perfect paradise.

“The perfect villa.”

When we look for a villa we have a list of requirements as long as your arm. We are really hard to please so when we come across a listing that meets all these criteria we have already looked at about 100 villas. Villa Le met our standard on paper but would it live up to it in reality. I can happily say Yes and then some. Privacy.....Very good. Not overlooked. Not too isolated. Location....Rural hamlet inland but only 20mins to sea. Shops....Large Continente supermarket in Loule 20mins. Local supermarket 10mins in Benafim. Famous indoor market in Loule. Surroundings.....Rural. Orange groves! Olive groves. Farmland. Walking. ...From the doorstep. House.....Bright and airy. Spacious. Good quality furniture and fittings. Excellent air conditioning. Good comfortable beds Good quality bed linen. Good quality towels. Rooms en suite. Fly screens on all windows. Kitchen......Extremely well equipped. Everything you could possibly want. Outside...Fantastic garden with sunny and shaded areas. Great outdoor kitchen and barbeque. Beautiful well maintained and fenced swimming pool and pool shower room. Sunny roof balcony with great views. Hosts...Pauline and Fintan. ''Probably the best hosts in the world!

“Perfect place to chill out.”

“Very peacefull, private, close to everything - just a perfect villa!”

I think this was the nicest villa we've seen and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. It is absolutely beautiful from the outside. I loved the garden full of trees (lemon, orange, lime, almonds etc) and the terrace. The inside of the villa was really amazing, very tastefully arranged and furnished. I loved our ensuite bathroom. Everything was nicely colour matched and you could tell a lot of love and care was put into the villa. Everything was clean and fridge was full of essentials (milk, butter, ham, cheese, salad ingredients, milk and bread). The owners, Fintan and Pauline, were very friendly and really lovely. They were happy to suggest places to go to and to eat at. They met us at the villa to show us round and they popped round during the week to change towels etc. If you would like a peaceful place to relax, this is definitely what you are looking for. It's set within a little village (Espargal), and it is very quiet. I loved the Mornings / Evenings when all you hear is just swallows flying around. You would obviously need to have a car to stay here. Once you do, it's easy to get anywhere. All the roads were quite empty. It was not far from the Airport, it was close to all other towns with plenty of restaurants etc. We did a lot of travelling around and went to all touristy places as well. It was always really nice coming back to the villa to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet :) The only thing I would change would be the pool heating. It is only sun heated and probably absolutely fine in hot Summer, however it was quite cold when we were there and I only braved it once. Thank you to Fintan and Pauline for looking after us and for letting us stay in their beautiful villa. We hope to come back one day and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

“Definitely worth a return trip”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2012

We have just returned from our holiday staying at Villa Le. The weather was not kind to us but the villa was just gorgeous. It was clean, spacious and very well stocked with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. Fintan and Patricia could not have been more hospitable or helpful and were always available if you needed them. The big bonus of the villa is that the pool is enclosed by a fence and a locked gate which provided peace of mind as our 3 year old twins cannot swim as yet. The garden was gorgeous and we feasted on the nectarines and oranges that abundently grew in it. It was a perfect villa for our family and we would most definitely go again in the future. Also, we highly recommend the Hamburgo Restaurant - it is definitely worth a trip! I would highly recommend Fintan and Patricia's villa.

“The best family holiday we've had in years.”

Despite travel delays, we felt we were on holiday from the moment we arrived. Fintan and his wife Pauline stayed there to greet us and show us around even though it was around midnight. The fridge was stocked with milk, beer and wine and their was ham, cheese, rolls, tea and coffee for breakfast. The place was spotless and everything we seemed to require was their including cleaning fluids and dishwasher tablets. The outside area is brilliant, superb pool, separate pool house with shower and toilet, plenty of sunbeds, chairs and tables and also a superb built in barbeque area with outside kitchenette including fridge. The location suited us fine. It was quiet (apart from the occasional dog barking) and well away from the crowds. Nearest restaurant/small supermarket is 5-10 mins drive, Loule with larger supermarkets and hypermarkets is 20 mins drive, beaches/coast, approx 30 mins so you need a car and you need to be happy to drive everywhere. Fintan and Pauline went out of their way to make our stay a pleasure, unobtrusively keeping the place clean, tending to the pool, advising on places to visit and eat and even accomanying me to the doctors when I got an ear infection. And if you can't get in at Villa Le, their other villa is also of a similar standard.
