Description

Fisherground Farmhouse is a beautiful Lakeland farmhouse, with lovely gardens. Comfortably sleeping 16 it is a great place for family and friends to get together. The location in Eskdale is great for walking the fells with hundreds of walks from the front door. There is also plenty for the younger (or young at heart) members of the family, with the small gauge railway (the L'arl Ratty) running down the valley to the coast at Ravenglass, as well as Muncaster Castle Gardens & Owl Centre.

The cottage welcomes up to two dogs, who would be welcome in some of the nearby pubs. The pubs are within the valley, with one just a 500 yard walk away, as well as a village shop to stock up on provisions.

The England region

With accessible mountains, beautiful lakes and tarns, woodlands and moorlands, the Lake District is a haven, not only for outdoor enthusiasts, but for anyone who loves peace and beauty.

The changing seasons bring with them different highlights Spring is a time of new life with baby lambs, Wordsworth's daffodils, and walks through bluebell woods. Summer brings it's own magic, either lazing by a lake or enjoying the view from the high mountain peaks. Beautiful Autumn colours hopefully bring along an Indian Summer and wild winter on the frosty fells, makes the most of an open fire and a seasonal glass of mulled wine.

The beautiful lakes with dramatic fells rising from there shores are just part of a great experience of excellent local food and fantastic activities. A holiday here can live long in the memory and get you coming back for more.

Eskdale

Eskdale is a wonderful valley of the Lake District with Scafell Pike at it's head the fell walking is unrivalled. The river Esk, which runs all the way through the valley down to Ravenglass on the coast, has crystal clear waters (great for a swim if it's warm enough!!).

There are also 5 pubs in the valley so eating out isn't a problem and there is also a village shop.

There are also some great attractions such as the Eskdale to Ravenglass Railway which is a small steam railway - great for kids and adults alike (think Thomas the tank engine!). There is also Muncaster Castle, Gardens and Owl Centre, a great place to explore for the day.
