Many gorgeous beaches are an easy 20 min drive away.

The villa is fully equipped (including Satellite TV and free high speed broadband Wi-Fi internet) and all the bedrooms are air conditioned (both cool or heat).

There is a large terrace with private pool which has Roman Steps at the shallow end (ideal for children, or the elderly). There is an excellent BBQ and a further shady terrace. A patio for al fresco dining leads out of the lounge, and there are plenty of sunbeds for everyone.

Location description from owner

The Balearic Islands region

The magical Mediterranean Island of Menorca (Minorca) has over 120 beaches, some of them being the most beautiful in Europe. Most are unspoiled and they are to be be found in every nook and cranny of the coastline of an island only 30 miles by 12. Some are long stretches of fine sand, others are sheltered bays or coves. The sea is of the clearest blue with an unmatchable clarity and with the most agreeable of temperatures which make it a paradise for water sports enthusiasts, or for those just lounging and chilling out.

During the year there is an average of 300 days of sunshine with an average of 5 hours a day in winter and more than 10 hours a day in summer.

For those interested in history and culture there is much to see and do, while for lovers of good food and wine there are some excellent local restaurants offering very reasonably priced meals and the waterside cave bars in Es Castell (5 min's drive) enable you to soak up the atmosphere.

For those on a budget I provide a guide for my tenants of local restaurants to eat (3 courses) for less than 12 Euros (£9) (including wine)!

Es Castell

Es Castell is a popular fishing village just five mins drive from the villa. There is an abundance of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and pockets. The harbour is particularly attractive and atmospheric, and the cave bars and restaurants really come alive in the evening.

The villa is situated in Son Vilar, a quiet residential village on the outskirts of the popular Mahon and Es Castell, and is close to amenities, superb restaurants and bars, and a short drive to gorgeous beaches.

An ideal base for families, couples, or groups of friends seeking a villa holiday on this lovely Island. It is fully equipped (including Satellite FreeSat TV), and all linen is supplied and laundered weekly.

A hire car can be arranged direct in Menorca with a good discount for my tenants.

“Perfect holiday villa”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2015

The villa was really beautiful and charming and felt like a real home. Everything we needed while we were away was supplied from the generous welcome pack, kitchen stocked full of all the equipment you might need, really good wifi and tv, towels and bedding and even a washing machine. The inside of the property is really beautiful and feels like a spanish family home. The pool is a really lovely feature and perfect for days when its too hot to go out and the pool and garden are really nicely maintained. We particularly enjoyed the fresh lemons from the lemon tree. Its located in a quiet residential area and has a very relaxed feeling and there aren't many tourists around. The driveway is really nice too as it makes the property feel very private. Location is great as its walking distance from some of the towns and really easy to get about if you have a hire care. The information pack we received in advance was really useful for planning our trip and we had lots of good advice from the owner of places to visit. We had the loveliest holiday and looking forward to coming back soon.

“Everything you need to explore Menorca”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2015

Located in Son Vilar, a residential area just outside Mahon (Capital) and Es Castell (popular fishing village). Easy access with rental car (required) to both, and each has terrific places to visit and eat. Home is an easy 15 minute trip from the airport. Grocery store 5 minutes away as well as local markets. Villa has 3 bedrooms with A/C (which both air conditioned the bedrooms and the main living areas/kitchen/den. Satellite TV and Wi-Fi internet worked well. Kitchen had everything needed for light meals and plenty of beach toys to use when visiting the many local beaches located within a 15- 30 minute drive and Es Castell is 5 minutes for seaside dinner and cocktails (just beautiful). Pool is the “winning” amenity at this villa, just a great place to enjoy the morning or evening before sightseeing for the day. The pool area had plenty of lounge chairs and shade umbrellas. We ate dinner one evening by the pool (BBQ) and breakfast in the shaded table area of the den. Beds and linens all fine, Washing machine a total plus. Owner was very accommodating and helpful, and welcome pack of food and amenities got us off to a terrific start. Don’t miss the opportunity to pick some spices from the onsite garden to use in your cooking. It was our first stay and hopefully we will return in the future

Owner's reply: Thank you for your positive comments on your stay, and as you are from far away (USA) your property and facilities requirements may be different to more local Europeans, so I'm pleased the property met with your requirements. Its great that (at long last) a tenant has found, and used, my Herb Garden at the back of the kitchen! I have been nurturing and extending this for a few years now, so next year it will be..... bigger! Ian (owner).

“fantastic pool area”

An excellent villa that has everything you will need. Very close to Es Castell and Mahon. Easy driving everywhere. We particularly enjoyed spending time by the pool, plenty of sunshine and shade with privacy from the neighbours. Good air conditioning in the bedrooms was much needed. The welcome food pack was very substantial, with the wine and beer being a nice touch. There is a well stocked supermarket 10 mins drive away on the road back towards the airport. The owner sent detailed information before we left the UK about both the villa and restaurants / activities in the area. Very thorough. I would definitely recommend this villa and would consider a return visit.

“Perfect base for south Menorcan break”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2014

The villa is very well equipped and full of charm. Ideally situated between Mahon and Es Castell and only a short drive to numerous top quality beaches the location is excellent. Situated in a quiet cul de sac and surrounded by mature trees it is both peaceful and private allowing you to enjoy the outdoor space to the full. The up front information and welcome pack provided by Ian surpasses anything that we have comes across before and the rental cost is very competitive. All in all a really good choice!.

“Menorca Gem!!”

“Yet another visit to this fantastic villa - our sixth time! There are many things which make this particular villa very special. Firstly, its location is ideal. It is located in a small quiet village on the east side of the island, close to the capital Mahon and within walking distance of the lovely town of Es Castell. Both Mahon and Es Castell offer very good eating places - the harbour front at Mahon has a promenade of restaurants of all types – whilst in Es Castell and nearby Cala Font /Cala Cobb you can find some lovely typical Spanish eateries. The villa is situated in a quiet residential area, surrounded by other Spanish and some English residents . You live here as the Spanish do, within their community as opposed to being within a holiday complex with other holiday makers. However, what makes this villa really special is the owner’s attention to detail both inside and outside. Inside it is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday and even, if needed, DVD’s and satellite television in English. The kitchen is well stocked and the welcome pack is considerable. The villa is very clean and is well maintained. Outside, within its own walled garden, with its own private driveway, is the lovely pool, designed with roman steps which makes getting in or out much easier. This makes it ideal for both young and old, and when very hot allows you sit in the pool with a glass on the side – so relaxing!!! The well stocked garden is visited by a local gardener and the pool is regularly maintained. The veranda is a lovely place to be during the evening to just sit and relax with a glass or two. Admittedly you don’t have a view of the sea, but be assured you have the peace and quiet which more than makes up for the lack of view. We feel that a car is essential whilst staying at this villa though it is only a short walk to the bus route into Mahon. This villa is a must!!!”

“Great Villa fully equipped in a location to suit most people for staying in or going out.”

5th stay at this villa in 3 years so my opinion speaks for itself really. We had a car which is a good idea to get the best out of Menorca but a 15 to 20 minute walk(5 mins in a car) in either direction takes you to Mahon harbour or Es Castell, both of which are lovely with an abundance of places to eat and drink, staff are always happy to call cabs if we didn't fancy walking back( 5 or 6 euros). The villa itself is also perfect for staying in, with nice pool and BBQ area we often make the most of this as an option. Never had any reasons to complain as everything is always as it should be and shall be booking again.

“Ideal villa in ideal Location”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2011

Have stayed here several times and keep returning. The villa is in a small residential area which means it is not overrun with tourists. It is quiet and in an ideal location as one is able to walk (20 mins) both into Mahon and Es Castell. The villa itself provides everything one could possibly need including air conditioning in all three bedrooms which is invaluable, Amenities in the villa are second to none as also provided are a tv, cd player, radio, washing machine, fridge/freezer etc.. A substantial welcome pack is also provided dor your arrival. The outside area is superb with a lovely pool, sunbeds and 4 parasols for escaping the sun, two at each end of the villa. Being close to Mahon port and Cala's Fons at Es Castell is a real bonus as both locations are so interesting and vibrant, especially during the evenings when visits to the many excellent restaurants are not to be missed. However, if you prefer to eat in, this is not a problem with a well equipped kitchen and a great barbeque near the pool. My wife and I would highly recommend this villa and There is no doubt that we shall be returning there in 2012.

“Fantastic Villa that we will return to again and again.”

A lovely, lovely Villa. This is our 3rd visit and we are already booking for next year. In a quiet area and within walking distance to both Mahan and Es Castell and the shops and restaurants. A home from home with a lovely pool and setting. Beautifully clean and equipped. Large screen Television where we were able to watch the Nadel and Murray matches. The owners are really lovely and although we have never met them, nothing is too much trouble for them. The information package is the best I have ever seen. We have been visiting Menorca for over 20 years and wish we had found this Villa earlier. We hire a car, which the owner arranges for you and visit all the places in Menorca that we have grown to love. I would not hesitate to recommend this Villa whether you are a couple or a family and you may find yourselves, like us, returning again and again.
