Ideal for 8-9 adults and up to 4-6 children depending on ages .Excellent location for exploring the South Hams: for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds as well as artists, writers, musicians for peacefull seclusion and inspiration in this ancient pastoral setting. Easily accessiblity to all the charming towns and villages, Salcombe, Totnes, Modbury, and estuaries of the Erme , Yealm Avon and the Dart . The interior decoration is an eclectic combination of William Morris patterns and colours from the arts and craft period and contemporary with some antiques, handmade objects , and motifs of moor and sea with bunting in the kitchen to add a festive fair! There are many books in the library and and sitting room for guests interest. Childrens' books, toys and games . Well equipped Kitchen has AGA ( in cool weather) and 2 ovens, gas hob, microwave and pastoral

Large sitting room with log burner, library/6th bedroom with sofa bed , spacious, light kitchen with breakfast table, adjacent dining room seats up to 10 adults and room for children overlooking a furnished terrace via French Doors .Garden is landscaped with privacy and sheltered areas, lawn, trees shrubs and wildflower areas with space for games: a climbing frame with swings and trampoline.PLEASE NOTE: A dust free environment is not possible to guarantee for allergy sufferers as 2 friendly Cats reside in adjacent annex and garden and while we make every effort the books in the house add to this difficulty -Sorry!!

The England region

South Devon is an area of outstanding natural beauty. the coastline and beaches are outstanding, and Dartmoor, the last wilderness area in southern England is nearby. there are many interesting towns and villages , large and small of interest including Plymouth, with its national maritime aquarium and historic Barbicon and Hoe.Totnes, Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth with numerous attractions are all within a half hour drive. The region is famous for its natural produce, organic farming and superb fish and shellfish.

Ermington

Locally, Burraton House is situated in a hamlet of Burraton,between Dartmoor and the Sea, aproximately 3.5 miles in each direction, in tranquil pastoral scenery 100m off a very quiet lane but with excellent access within 10 minutes of the A38, the main route in S. Devon. Nearby are several picturesque villages with excellent range of restaurants varying from traditional pubs to award winning cuisine .As a change from supermarkets there is nearby the splendid Riverford Farm shop and cafe restaurant in our nearest village of Yealmpton supplying excellent produce including locally produced meat , cheeses, vegetables of exceptional quality and a fish counter. Addtiionally there is a medical surgery,post office, local shop and garage. The South Devon Coast Path is easily accessible and there are many beaches nearby varying from wild beaches and bays for swimming , and the famous Bantham which is the principal surfing beach of S. Devon. The estuaries provide opportunities for windsurfing, kayaking, paddle boarding. it is also possible to hire boats at Salcombe, Dittisham, Dartmouth and Plymouth.Nightlife is available in Plymouth with taxi service at £20. each way.
