“Beautiful home from home accommodation”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2016

Stayed for New Year with our children.. From the minute we arrived we fell in love with the lovely little place. The little personal touches inside, from the welcome card to candles, bubble bath etc was a bonus. We spent more time then we thought indoors due to the weather, but enjoyed every bit of our time spent. It was warm, cosy and Comfortable. The hot tub went down a treat with us, the highlight seeing in the New Year drinking champagne watching the fire works in the valleys. Thank you so much Mandy & David, hope to see you again soon. Xxxx

Owner's reply: Happy New Year to you too. It was lovely to meet you and your family, and we are delighted you had such a good time. Hope to see you again soon.

“A little slice of paradise in the Forest of Dean.”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2015

The Stables is a beautiful cottage surrounded by the stunning countryside of the Forest of Dean. Mandy and David could not have been more welcoming and made us feel very at home. The Stables has been finished to a very high standard with many personal touches that made all the difference to our stay. Having the hot tub was a real bonus and fantastic to use in all weather conditions - our children spent most of the weekend in it! If you want a weekend of peace and tranquillity this is the place to go - you won't want to go home!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the trouble to review the Stables. We are delighted you had such a good time and would love to see you again, should you want to return in the future.

“A peaceful setting and beautiful views”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2015

We had a lovely short break. The new hot tub was an added bonus and the views across the fields full of lambs was beautiful. Fresh eggs from the chickens were waiting for us when we arrived which was lovely. Mandy was very helpful and took our children to collect eggs which they loved. The location is great, so close to lots of places. The inside of the stables is warm and welcoming and we felt really at home.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely comments. We are very pleased you had such a good time and enjoyed your stay in the Stables.

“What an utter delight!”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2015

My wife and I stayed here over Christmas with out three small children. This place is simply magical. Hidden at the end of a long bumpy lane it is miles from any other houses, perched on the edge of a beautiful valley. The accommodation itself is part of a set of farm buildings with the one we stayed in being the old stables. The owners have treated the renovation of this building with real care and detail. Magical touches such as moroccan lighting and exposed beams make this place one to remember. The sleeping areas in this property are in the old part of the building, with a bright airy kitchen and diner made from a recently added glazed extension. There is a large brand new bathroom with shower and bath, again all finished to a high standard. It was very cold when we were here in the depth of winter but inside it was kept nice and warm with a portable thermostat you can keep with you. The location itself is also stunning. Great walks, pubs and places of interest and all within easy reach and we are already planning our trip back. The owners could not have been friendlier. They greeted us with smiles and were more than happy to help with any questions we had during our stay. I could not recommend this place highly enough...

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for writing such lovely things about the Stables. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

“Cosy and in a great location”

Reviewed 3 Mar 2015

The Stables is a really lovely place to stay in the Forest of Dean, with fantastic views. The accomodation itself had everything we needed and was a great place to relax in the evenings. The decor is rustic and pretty and the owners were very welcoming and even supplied us with their chicken's freshly laid eggs!! We were perfectly located to visit Clearwell Caves, Symonds Yat and The Forest of Dean family cycle and sculpture trails. A lovely few days away!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your review. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the Stables.
