It's all here to enjoy – in Emsworth

Tucked away in the south east corner of Hampshire on the shore of Chichester Harbour, Emsworth is a quiet and attractive yet vibrant and dynamic town where residents wouldn't live anywhere else and visitors can be sure of a friendly welcome.

Emsworth is popular with sailors, artists, naturalists and walkers. The two tidal millponds to east and west are host to a variety of wildlife. Emsworth has a long history connected with oyster fishing and boat building and still boasts traditional shipwrights and chandleries. Its attractive streets are lined with a mixture of architectural styles and high walled gardens and a walk around the town gives a genuine feel for the past, with exceptional harbour views.

“So peaceful”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2016

Booked cottage for a week to enable us to attend a family wedding and also to give us a base to explore West Sussex.Ideally situated for Portsmouth,Chichester,Brighton and the beautiful little villages dotted around the coast(especially Arundel, truly beautiful little village). The cottage has everything you will need(there is no TV,but you can take your own, aerial is already there for you, also no microwave) missed both for about 10 mins, then just settled into listening to the radio, reading books and talking to each other(no wi-fi) .Small front garden to cottage, but when the rest of the front garden is made up of a stream,we had no complaints, front gets sun in the morning and large rear garden gets sun all afternoon.Open log fire in living room which we asked owner if we could buy fire logs and set fire and was no problem, very cosy at night with fire burning.Numerous walks nearby and owner has a separate section with walk maps and local attractions. To basically sum this accommodation,if you want a place with all mod cons and gadgets then this is not it,however if you want a break away from the rat race and on return to feel that you really have had a holiday then this cottage undoubtedly will give you that.

Thank you for the lovely review - you enjoyed the cottage just as I intended and hoped its guests would.
