Getting around

Staying in a small county surrounded by five others can make it hard to discover all that is on offer in the area, as each county has it's own tourist authority. However the information supplied in Primrose Hall is informative and clear and does not just concentrate on Rutland, but shows attractions close by in Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. A list of postcodes and distances from Primrose Hall is also supplied.

Interaction with guest

A few weeks before your stay, Catherine will send you a personal email with details she feels will be useful to you...where to pick up the key, where the thermostat is, how to find the village shop, where the wifi passcode is, where a spare key is located etc. If you have dogs she will suggest good walks and which areas of the Pub allow dogs. If you have children she will let you know what facilities are in the cottage for them and suggest places for them to go dependant on their ages. On your first evening she or her husband Simon will call round to answer any queries you may have.

“Every possible need catered for!”

Our stay at Primrose Hall, Empingham has been wonderful...Catherine made us feel welcome and at home...the walks are so accessible...the cottage had everything we could wish for...and dog friendly too! We'll definitely be back!

“Beautiful holiday home!”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2013

We found this accommodation only a few days before our trip and the owner couldn't have been more accommodating! Everything was arranged in a couple of emails and absolutely no fuss! It's amazing how this property has been renovated and the owners have done a fantastic job down to the tiny details! We had fresh flowers and fruit waiting for us on arrival as well as high chair and travel cot which made travelling with a baby a lot easier! The village is beautiful and really close to Rutland waters (5 min drive) where there's plenty to entertain you for the day! Would definitely go again!

Catherine & Simon made us so welcome especially Cracker our rescue dog. This village hall conversion is stunning Catherine & Simon must feel very proud, so comfortable cosy and short of nothing. A very welcome bottle of wine also the special touches fresh fruit and flowers and choccies pure heaven thats all I can say and many thanks for a great stay. We also found all the information about the surrounding area very useful.

“Perfect”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2012

From the moment I booked this property up until I left everything was perfect. I arrived to the most wonderful welcome of fresh flowers, tea, coffee, milk which I was desperate for a cuppa after a long drive. On top of that the most amazing bowl of fruit and some treats for my dog. This was so thoughtful of the owner and nothing I have ever received before. The cottage was amazing, clean, spacious and every piece of equipment needed in the kitchen and more than I had expected. Too many little touches to mention but you will not be disappointed. The beds are extremely comfy and I had some of the best nights sleep especially being away from home. I cannot fault this propery in anyway. The location was also perfect I was looking to do some biking, and walking and I was able to bike to Rutland Water from the cottage and take the dog to the enclosed part for a safe run of the lead and having a springer spaniel he needed to run free so only being 2 mins in the car it was perfect. Some beautiful walks around and the owner has a folder packed of things to do, places to eat and lots of laminated walks for you to try so if you are stuck for things to do, you will be able to find something. I can't wait to go back and was very sorry to leave. It was one of the most relaxing holidays I have had in a long time and a lot of that was the accommodation and location. Thank you for renting out your beautiful home.

“Comfortable and Cosy Cottage in a lovely location”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2012

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights on a cycling/walking visit to Rutland. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and superbly equipped with everything you could need plus nice touches such as wine, fruit, coffee tea and milk to get you started. The owner was very accommodating and helpful and was happy to squeeze us in at short notice. The cottage is located in a lovely village close by Rutland Water and was ideal for us as it was just a short hop on our bikes to view and enjoy this picturesque area. With the towns of Stamford and Oakham closeby it is in an ideal location to explore this delightful part of the country.
