“Great location and staff and food excellent!”

Reviewed 25 Nov 2015

We both enjoyed our time there- the staff were most welcoming, and even happy to see the dog! The cottage was ideal for us with the dog- once we got over the fact that you couldn't get a mobile phone signal there, and there was no phone in the cottage, and although the bathroon was lovely, there was nowhere to put your toiletries/towels etc- all was otherwise perfect. The food was excellent, and we will definitely return. Thank you.

“Delightful, well appointed cottage for two”

Reviewed 16 Oct 2015

Lovely detached cottage, newly appointed and has under floor heating. Very close to village shop and a choice of three pubs/restaurants. all within walking distance. 1/2 mile walk down to the beach and beautiful walks along coast in either direction. Would definitely stay again.

“tranquility”

Reviewed 3 May 2015

Stone cottage with a wow factor behind a white wicket fence. Beautifully finished inside.Modern with a capital M. The cottage was light and airy with open plan and underfloor heating. Every convenience needed to enjoy the beautiful scenery outside. Just a gentle stroll down to the fabulous beach with Dunstanburgh Castle on the shoreline. I think the cottage was perfect for two adults, I couldn't see four adults in there as there is only one bathroom, which was lovely. The service we received was fine, but we did not use the hotel facilities as we were self catering and wanted totry out the eating establishments in the village. There was one convenience store yards from the cottage which seemed to stock most items and had a post office and cash withdrawal. There was no view from the windows apart from a small courtyard which was pleasant, with gardens to walk through aswell. Just around the corner from the cottage you could see the sea. An amazing vista. Parking was adequate . There were some some steps to negotiate getting the luggage into the cottage but only three which were non slip. Ideally located for all the sightseeing you could manage, and there was plenty. Lindisfarne, Holy Island, Farne Islands,Bamburgh Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle. Walk to Craster over the cliff tops and try their smoked kippers. Just some of the things to do and then to return to such a welcoming warm cottage after a day out was bliss. The king size bed was very comfortable and the linen and towels were of good quality. All in all a great stay and highly recommended.

“This accommodation is superb”

Reviewed 22 Mar 2015

We have stayed in many cottages over the years with our two dogs and none have been better than Dune cottage. The interior is immaculate with a very modern feel and the garden is secure. The cottage is located close to the beach with lots of options for walks. The hotel is close by and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend Dune cottage to anyone seeking first class accommodation. The roll top bath is to die for. We immediately rebooked for another stay in the summer.

“Ideal Christmas Escape !!”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2014

Decided this year to escape the Christmas madness and mayhem and Dune Cottage was the perfect choice. Beautiful cottage fitted out to a very high standard and loved the underfloor heating! Set in a quiet little village with a 10 minute stroll down to a stunning beach, great coastal walks in both directions too. Didn't want to come home!! Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a Northumberland break, for quality comfort and location.

“Fabulous new cottage”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2014

We normally stay in one of the other cottages the hotel has and were very delighted to discover this recent addition to their cottages. It was immaculate and extremely comfortable, with the added benefit of adding breakfast and or dinner to the self catering package. The staff as usual were very friendly and attentive, you must give Dune Cottage a try.
