Before the numerous franchise hotel chains came into being, Ma & Pop places like the Cheat River Lodge served the weary traveler. Preserved, when the backroads became less traveled, its tranquil riverfront setting remains.

Built in the 70s, at the gateway to the Monongahela National Forest, the six room Lodge is a sportsman’s getaway. Over the years, its riverside location on the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River gained appeal with outdoor enthusiasts. For the fishermen, it’s a bonanza of a fishing spot as it is a major trout stocking location.

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE AN AFFINITY FOR WATER, A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT !

Today, the Lodge is attracting travelers who desire more than 4 walls. For those opting for a room with a view, the large picture windows, and screened porches with rocking chairs are welcomed amenities. After a day’s activities, the outdoor hot tub, spacious decks, including one that cantilevers over the river, will provide additional areas to lounge.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
