Description

Great Location: Pool, View: The best thing is the location on top of the hill overlooking the beautiful aqua waters of Erakor Lagoon and Island. It always has nice breezes and is 2-3 degrees cooler than the centre of town. (though we are only 5-10mins to town) .There are only 1 other occupied apartment in the block and they work so you have the pool to yourself in those times.

Walk to several resorts nearby for restaurants and use of their facilities.

Close to transport/town. No real need for a car except if you want to hire one for a day to do the round Island tour.

We provide bus and taxi numbers that will come and pick you up and its hail and ride the frequent minibuses home

Airport pick up can be arranged

Vouchers for free meals and discounts and tourist brochures , local phonebook on site.

Great facilities: House has a well equipped kitchen, housekeeping x 2-3/wk (9-12md), cappuccino machine, microwave , oven , Linen and towels provided. Massage and beauty treatments available on site.

Business travellers catered for: Office equipment avail on request eg printer, scanner, photocopier, computer for business stays. Loan local phone available on request.

Cool : Natural breezes, Air Con and Fans in every room

Entertainment: Tv, Foxtel, Free to air Oz channels, Internet, Phone- Tvs in every room, foxtel in 3 rooms, and a 2.3M wide screen for projector Tv in living room. Dvd Library and DVD players x3 rooms. Pool toys and Board games and book and magazine library provided.

Secure: Secure setting with security lighting, crimsafe screens, alarm, roller shutters, safe, code entry.

Local support: Owners are available for any queries during your stay via phone or email or text and a local manager is available if needed.

ADDITIONAL FEES: Fee of $150/wk (12000vt) paid direct to housekeeper after arrival to cover utilities(electricity and gas as these bills have to be paid locally so we have separated them out from the online fees).

First 120 kw electricity free but use greater than this is charged back to guest (83c/kwh)- meter on site so guests can monitor their use.

This covers 95% of bookings and this policy ensures good environmental use of scarce resources on the island and helps us keep the booking cost down for most guests. (Max extra electricity ever charged was $50 during peak summer (Jan to March). Other times its rare as there are great flow through breezes on top if the hill.

Bond $500, returned within 7 days minus any damages. .

Getting around

We can organise a driver to pick you up and take you anywhere in his minibus Airport transfers are a set price 3000 vt Buses are about $2 pp and we will provide bus driver numbers you can call to pick you up or you can walk to the bottom of the hill and hail and ride. Its hail and ride to get home but always check to make sure they will go to the top of elluk (some older buses wont as last 500m is unsealed road)

Owner's reply: So sorry you had to experience this. Luckily now its all over, thank goodness! (As you know we arrived and found our neighbours building on our fence line!!! Luckily we were able to stop this and move them back. Needless to say they gave us no warning) We think we had a power surge issue (common in Vanuatu as powerlines overhead) and we lost two DVD players, a Tv and a microwave! All replaced now. Though the foxtell we have has plenty of movies on it as an alternative to DVDs. In regards to the cleaning , the cleaning lady said you had done it all before she came which I think you confirmed but I will make sure she is aware of your feedback and thank you for letting us know (though we include cleaning as a bonus (no cost to you) as we want to support her and her family . (Your house staff become family in Vanuatu and supporting them is a way of giving back to the country).

“Fantastic. Best in Vila”

We stayed in Santina in January 2016, and absolutely loved it. its set high up on a hill, with sweeping views over Erakor island and its surrounding turquoise tropical waters. Magic mornings. Really quite spectacular. the pool is set on the edge with the same fab views. Because its high, it has lots of breeze. this is really something many other properties in Vila miss out on. it makes it oh so cool. its an apartment, but its an ultra large one. and because its ground floor, it gets the coolness of the earth and is protected from the sun from the unit above, so it barely gets any sun to heat it up. as a contrast, we visited our friends place, and it was typically hot, the latent heat of their building heating up their deck and making the night Hot. when we got home we couldn't believe how cool our unit was and the nice breeze coining in made it perfect to sleep to. and i know, we lived there for 4 years, its the coolest place i have been to, and I've been to lots. this is a big bonus. this rental is really decked out for the punters. the owners have done a great job in making it comfortable. new furniture and really nice decor, plus mod cons like a coffee espresso machine, cane sun lounges, portable bbq, and soon to be pizza oven!! plus it has a fully functional kitchen and all the pots, cutlery, containers and cooking utensils you'll ever need. its really a great place to stay and i would highly recommend it. and its really good value for what you get. you cant go past it. highly recommended. book it b/c you wont be disappointed.

For your next stay we will have a pizza oven, clear bottom kayak and a floating 2m x7m aquapad that the whole family can float on in the lagoon and even picnic on with the supplied picnic equipment and a blackjack-roulette table for those days you just want to spend indoors.
